Shuler has had a nice start to his senior season for Kings, averaging over 15 PPG thus far. He continued his impressive scoring ability as a secondary guard who could attack closeouts on the baseline, take defensive rebounds coast to coast and knock down an open shot. In the fourth quarter Shuler had multiple strong takes to the rim to keep his team alive in this tightly contested battle for the whole 32 minutes.

Saunders was getting downhill with the ball in his left hand and Cenetennial simply didn't force him to change directions on the ball. A talented athlete with a head of steam, Saunders is strong and explosive with a runway. Impressive victory for Walnut Ridge who responded well from a tough conference loss Vs Africentric less than 20 hours prior to this game.

A brand new name for myself, Moore played with a lot of confidence in the first half as the lefty shooting guard made some confident plays. Moore scored on a corner 3-pointer, an and-1 layup off a drive and knocked down a mid-range pull-up jumper. Always nice to see new players stand out and make a name for themselves and Moore is a key senior to know in the Columbus City League.

Newark is rolling right now and Gilbert is a part of their three headed monster of experienced upperclassmen. More than just a specialist, Gilbert has a quick first step and a little wiggle as a ball handler when attacking closeouts. His elite shooting ability forces the defense to close out hard on him and even then he's still able to make heavily contested looks off movement. Talented senior guard who is a name you'll see on the all OCC team at the end of the season.

A tough loss for an Africentric squad that had been rolling prior to this game, the Nubians will get better from this experience. This senior laden group has seen it all and remains one of the favorites in the Columbus city league as well as a contender in Division V thanks to players like Hardy. I liked Hardy's finishing ability at the rim, scoring off cuts, drives and in transition. Making a couple jumpers in the second half as well, Hardy was the Nubians most consistent offense on Saturday.

Saint Ignatius is one of the best teams in northeast Ohio and it seems like a different guy can hurt you on any given night. On Saturday evening Dari had the hot hand from long distance. A high arcing 3-pointer, Dari had multiple buckets that swished right through the net on its way down. Having a couple of confident ball handlers and shooters is crucial for a Saint Ignatius team that is loaded with size and athleticism on the defensive end of the court.

Olentangy Orange is going through some growing pains early in the season after graduating a stacked senior class and missing their star point guard due to injury. With a loaded schedule there hasn't been any time for the new faces to get comfortable at the varsity level but the flashes they've shown against this elite competition suggest they should be dangerous in February and March. Wilson is one of those names as a player who is active on the defensive end of the court, had a nice extension step finish at the rim and didn't look out of place athletically Vs some of the top players at his position in Ohio. A small college target who should continue to improve with more experience, Wilson has a chance to really breakout late in the year.

Tucker is a prospect with a lot of upside who has shown some intriguing flashes when I watched him. On Saturday evening those flashes were a little more consistent with some standout self creation plays off the bounce. Tucker can finish above the rim and had an and-1 finish and a breakaway dunk in the second half. Summit Country Day is dealing with an injury to star [player_tooltip player_id='2222935' first='Tim' last='Martin'] and that's forced guys like Tucker to have to step up against a loaded schedule. If Summit Country Day can get healthy and some chemistry leading into the state tournament they are still one of the toughest D5 teams to match-up with.
