Two of Oklahoma's best teams went down to Texas for the Thanksgiving Hoopfest and recorded big wins over top Texas teams on Friday night.

Crosslen was a monster for the Hornets. A walking mismatch against a very talented Texas team. Consistently put in spots to dominant from around 15 feet and in. Catching extended post ups and smoothly draining turnaround jumpers. If fronted, he sealed and then athletically scored at the rim. Got it going around the elbow too. The high upside wing continues to make strides and adds an extra dimension to the Hornets as they aim to go back to back in 5A.

Muriithi was a tone setting workhorse around the rim throghout the game. Grown man finishes at the basket. Incluiding dropping the hammer three times in the second half. The best display of his athleticism came when he corralled a longer offensive rebound, took one dribble to go by a defender, and then exploded off two feet for a momentum swinging slam. Muriithi shines because he knows his role on offense and brings a little bit of everything on the defensive end. Including the agility to coral and slow down attacking guards in transition and the halfcourt.

A strong start to Mitchell's junior campaign. Was at his best during Booker T Washington's second quarter. Including an amazing contested dunk in the halfcourt. When Mitchell is locked in, he's a special watch. Has a rare level of athleticism that to borrow a quote from Muhammad Ali can best be described as "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee". While solid throughout, what really set his second quarter performance apart was how he ideally mixed his scoring with passing. Grabbing boards and turning into an one man fast break, either getting to the rim or setting up his teammates. Continuing to make improvements as a passer will make BTW nearly unstoppable and set the junior up for long term success.

The Panthers are one of the deeper teams in the state, but don't sleep on this fiery senior guard. He wasn't afraid of the moment and got off to a hot start. A deep mid-range pull up along with a "give me that" steal and score. To climb the mountain in 6A, the extra fight and urgency that seniors give is always needed, expect Schoates to have more key stretches like this in future PCN big wins.

A whole hosts of Panthers contributed with deep shooting. Including the sharpshooting junior who hit a pair of threes during a back and forth second quarter. This past year has seen Thomas grow as an all around player, but his ability to connect from distance was big last night. And will continue to be crucial going forward for a team with real Gold Ball aspirations. Which would be fitting for Thomas, as his older brother Micah won a Gold Ball with PCN as a junior in 2018.

Fresh off a big offer from Missouri, Murry was a second half standout. He got it going with back to back threes in the third, which pulled the Panthers ahead. Then added another late in the third for good measure to extend the lead to the five. Down the stretch, he was money from the free throw line. Murry has the potential to be the top sophomore in Oklahoma and his shooting ability at his size and athleticism is a big reason why.

Sanders missed a large chunk of November with a finger injury, but the senior is back and came out of the gates shooting. Drilled a three to start the scoring in the game. Then had a key scoring stretch in the fourth. Hit another triple, then a great reverse layup take. Smartly used the rim to protect the ball against a defender. He's one of the top unsigned senior guards in Oklahoma.
