On Saturday October 25th I attended the 27th annual Arizona Preps Showcase at Inspire Courts. It is typically the last event before tryouts in November. There was around 55 different high schools in attendance and I viewed around 20 of them.

Here were ten 2029 Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='2894935' first='Kendell' last='Stapleton'] Desert Mountain (Pictured)

A defensive real point guard who is a quick on quick guard with a burst. He has a nice layup package in the paint and he will smartly change speeds. He is a lock down on-ball defender as he pesters his opponents up the court and in the half court set. He also sees the court well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251690' first='Innocent' last='Onwo'] Mesa

A bigger scoring guard is a lefty who loves getting to the basket. He can shoot it with mid-range jumpers, strong downhill takes and hitting threes. He can get hot quickly and he is a stronger defender in space and rebounds well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2506518' first='Azariah' last='Reetz'] Carl Hayden

A high flying power forward who will rim run with impressive alley-oop dunks way above the rim. He rebounds, runs the floor and he will defend from inside and out with great length and fluidity. He can still improve like all freshmen but has a nice base to work with.

[player_tooltip player_id='2886380' first='Remy' last='Rose'] Carl Hayden

A bigger point guard can defend, make plays and score. He has elite passing skills with perfect lob passes and he will make tough passes look easy. He will score getting to the basket and hitting perimeter jumpers. He also has quick feet on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759169' first='Kha'leal' last='Brown'] McClintock

A defensive scoring lead guard can fill it up nightly with a very polished floater game and hit three off the catch or pull with deep range. He is very quick to the get to the basket with his first step but will also change speeds. He makes good reads and is competitive on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2825980' first='Brexton' last='Quinet'] Desert Mountain

A pure point guard is your throwback old school guard. He is always making passes up the court and will often drive and kick it to a shooter. The southpaw will still score with threes off the catch or pull with range. He plays perfectly off of the pick and roll game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2734358' first='Cruz' last='Kazmierski'] Gilbert

A bigger scoring guard keeps impressing each week. He will shoot the three with range, he has high level mid-range pull-up off the dribble and he will hit tough shots off the glass. He smartly moves without the ball and plays the game from the neck up.

[player_tooltip player_id='2955337' first='Titus' last='McNair'] Perry

A quick scoring combo guard is very quick in the passing lanes to collect steals and he is a good passer up the court with an unselfish nature but he truly wants to score. He will drill threes off the catch or pull and he will get to the basket with a burst and score with and-1's thru contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194474' first='Isaiah' last='Rider IV'] Higley

A scoring point guard is a catch and shoot three point gunner with range and a quick trigger. He will score it in the lane with either hand and he is a good passer in traffic and up the court. He is stout on the ball and he will take charges. He already has a pace that some seniors wish they could play at.

[player_tooltip player_id='2533594' first='CJ' last='Johnson'] Desert Edge

A scoring pure point guard has a super shifty, tight yo-yo handle. He can create his own offense and will throw dimes with great timing with his passes. He will score with perimeter jumpers and fall away from mid-range. He is quick to get to the basket and he already leads the West Valley team.
