Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at the Metro League, which is one of the top conferences in Missouri.

In recent years, the Metro League has been producing some Division I talent with Brandon Williams-Day of MICDS (Dartmouth), Westminster's Kobe Williams (Missouri State) and [player_tooltip player_id='1557399' first='Sheek' last='Pearson'] of John Burroughs (Marquette). Then there's recent commits [player_tooltip player_id='2352805' first='Quentin' last='Coleman'] of Principia to Wake Forest and former John Burroughs standout [player_tooltip player_id='1850526' first='Tristan' last='Reed'] to Mississippi State.

THE STARTING FIVE

[player_tooltip player_id='2352805' first='Quentin' last='Coleman'] (Principia): The 6'3" 2026 guard enters the season as the No. 1 player in the Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2026 rankings. He enjoyed a big season by leading the Panthers to the Class 3 state championship then followed up with a huge summer for [program_tooltip program_id='2075324' first='Brad' last='Beal Elite']'s 17U team as he helped them win the championship at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam. As a junior, he averaged 19 points, six rebounds and three assists while shooting 45 percent from 3-point range on 64 made triples. He recently gave a commitment to Wake Forest University.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334909' first='Will' last='Powers'] (Westminster Christian): A 6'4" 2027 guard who led the Wildcats to a third-place finish in the Class 5 state tournament. He is a terrific 3-level scorer with deep shooting range and the ability to create shots off the dribble. He averaged 17 points, five rebounds and two assists a game while making 83 3-pointers on 38 percent shooting from long distance. He has already received a Division I offer from Austin Peay. There will be several more to follow in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='1790003' first='Brandon' last='Clemens'] (MICDS): A 6'2" 2026 guard who has been a consistent bucket for the Rams since breaking into the starting lineup as a freshman. He is an outstanding offensive player because he can play off screens and move without the ball plus his ability to create his own offense off the dribble. He reads defenses very well. He averaged 18 points, four rebounds and three assists a game while making 498 percent of his 3-pointers. He made 63 triples last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334910' first='Sekou' last='Cisse'] (Principia): A 6'9" 2027 forward who is one of the top big men in the state. He is an elite rebounder who plays with a strong motor at both ends of the court. He does a good job of getting out of his area for rebounds. He was a big part of the Panthers' state championship effort last season, including 17 points and 10 rebounds in the state title game against KC Kipp Legacy. He averaged 10 points and seven rebounds a game while shooting 59 percent from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='2090481' first='Jason' last='Stokes'] (MICDS): A 6'4" 2026 guard who is one of the most versatile players in the conference. He can play point guard effectively and he also rebounds well and guards multiple positions. He can also shoot it from 3-point range and crash the offensive boards. As a junior, he averaged 15 points, four rebounds and three assists a game while shooting 38 percent from 3-point range. He made 47 triples last season.

Outlook: The Metro League is loaded with excellent teams, but Principia is the favorite to not only win the conference, but also a state championship with his talent and depth. If they are still in Class 3, the Panthers will be the prohibitive favorites. If they are moved up to Class 4, it becomes a little more challenging, but the Panthers are still built for success. Westminster and MICDS will also field excellent teams with plenty of veteran talent returning. Westminster hopes to make another Final Four trip while MICDS is poised to make a strong run with a talented senior class back for a final run.
