In a game that was seemingly never in doubt, Boyd led De Smet early and often in the championship game against Blue Springs South. He came out aggressive, scoring 14 of his game-high 26 points in the first half as the Spartans built a 16-point lead at halftime. Boyd’s ability to attack the paint, finish at the rim, and draw fouls put consistent pressure on the Jaguar defense throughout the game. He also made a strong impact on the glass, pulling down nine rebounds and generating extra scoring chances.

Boyd can do a little bit of everything, all while playing with a level of poise on the floor. Jordan seems to always be under control and has proven to be a true shot-maker throughout the season. He’s a difficult cover for defenders because of his versatility — he can attack off the dribble, work effectively off the ball, and even take advantage of smaller defenders by playing with his back to the basket. It all reflects a strong offensive understanding and high basketball IQ for different situations and looks thrown his way.
Jordan is also an underrated passer. When defenses collapse on him, he does a good job of reading rotations and using his size to see up and over defenders to find open teammates. Look for him to take advantage of early transition opportunities to get himself going.

There was no denying Boyd’s skill on Friday night. He came alive as a shooter, knocking down multiple triples while actively seeking his shot early and often. Beyond his scoring, he was a steadying presence for De Smet, providing experience and leadership when it mattered most.
Boyd’s scoring helped keep De Smet within striking distance, especially when other options were limited. Beyond his perimeter shooting, he attacked closeouts aggressively and made his presence felt on the glass, using his size from the guard spot to create mismatches and capitalize on opportunities.
