-The Springdale Prep guard really stood out this summer playing up two age groups on the UAA circuit, starting on a [program_tooltip program_id='2077005' first='Team' last='Thrill'] team that won the championship. Costley can handle the rock to run the offense or play off the ball as a connector that can also knock down jumpers. His advanced feel and pace at this stage of his career give him a good genesis for his HS career to build from. Playing with a team full of veteran guards, wings, shooters, and play-finishing bigs should give him ample opportunity to show what he can do both on a local and national stage this season. My interview with him as a part of a Prospect Spotlight series can be found here.

-The 6'7 forward showed out this summer playing up an age group with 15u New World, averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds on the 3SSB circuit as a physical but skilled low post presence. Abraham has a nice set of post moves and plays with great pace and patience on catches around the basket or on the short roll, shielding the ball with his body while allowing opponent bigs to fly by on shot block attempts before finishing at the rim. Abraham has really worked on his body, losing over 40 lbs from the summer that has allowed him to move much better with the ball in his hands in addition to improving his end to end sprinting endurance. An additional source of optimism for his outcomes is that Abraham also has the pedigree (cousin of Duke C Pat Ngongba and Georgetown W Isaiah Abraham) to continue growing as one of the more vital future pieces of this Clinton Grace team.

-Sometimes, simple just wins. Schneeburg arrives at Sidwell as a 6'4 guard that can thrive both on or off the ball as a freshman that should make an immediate impact. His size allows him to see over the defense and make plays passing the basketball with either hand. But he's also very strong for his age and is really difficult to turn over, doesn't get sped up by ball pressure and makes good reads before the defense can cut off his water. His ability to operate in the PnR as a passer/scorer or thrive on the wing as a connector/shooter make him a valuable piece for Coach Singletary and company as they look to make some noise on the national level this season.

-Palpable buzz in Largo as Echebi begins his career looking to make an impact right away for a Lions team that graduated one of the all time PG County greats in Michigan State wing Cam Ward. Echebi has a nice skill base with plus physical tools and dynamic athletic gifts. An athletic forward that continues to add more ball-handling/passing/shooting ability— he really stood out to our scouts at the Prep Hoops Expo, competing at a high level against a prospect pool that was filled with mostly upperclassmen. Echebi will have to develop in a trial by fire setting alongside the senior guard duo of Ashe + Johnson

-Dynamic off guard/wing prospect that continues the Word legacy at MSJ on the same varsity group with his older brother Chauncey. Ciar uses his burst and frame to attack his matchup off the bounce and bully his way to the rim with a size advantage that he has over most of the guards that he faces. He has a nose for the basketball and wins most of his 50/50 balls while showing a good feel for the angle that missed shots are coming off the rim. Really interested in seeing how he is utilized in a MSJ system that emphasizes ball and player movement and a usually-deep bench.

-Have really enjoyed watching Nuñez play this fall as a wing prospect that is working hard to carve out a role for himself on a stacked MZ National team. The southpaw plays with an impressive motor at both ends of the floor and has already improved the handle and set shot quite a bit over the past few months. Already standing at least 6'6 with a + wingspan with playing experience with the Dominican National team under his belt, I trust that the young wing's drive will maximize his ceiling as one of the better long-term prospects in the area.

-Speaking of prospects with long term upside, Williams has a chance to finish towards the top of his class in the local rankings if his development continues at its current pace. Williams uses long strides and a quicker first step than most young W/F tweeners his size to get to the cup with regularity. His length, athleticism, and lateral mobility should earn him a few opportunities as a good mover on the backline that can provide lineup versatility here and there for the Cadets this season. If he can continue to put on weight and hone the jumpshot in good hands on Military Road, this will be a prospect for coaches to keep tabs on over the years.

-Sauritch will likely step into a big role with a Bullis team that graduated 4 starters and will need his shooting/connecting ability from the wings to chase another IAC title this season. Love the way that he does his work early of scanning the floor before he catches the ball to gauge closeouts, where the help defenders are, and what his move needs to be before the ball is swung his way. With good positional size, a strong work ethic, and a signature trait that is in high demand— I expect him to turn heads this ceiling.

-Physical post presence that has really improved as a finisher around the rim with a diverse set of finishing moves in his bag. The motor stands out as a prospect that uses the physicality developed as a wide receiver on the football field to translate to the basketball court as a prospect that is currently a forward but likely projects to be more of a wing. He's active defensively, can guard up and down a few positions, and plays with a motor at both ends of the floor. Like his jumpshot 15' and in but the form and consistency project to eventually extend past the arc. Should be a big part of a McDonogh group that should surprise folks this year as a competitive group in the MIAA.

-Posey is one of the more creative ballhandlers and scorers in the area, stepping into a big role with SMR in year one as a guard prospect that should be one of their leaders in both scoring and assists this season. He does a great job of keeping his dribble alive while probing the defense, with a handle advanced enough to scan the floor with his head up the entire time—often a rarity for freshman PGs. His touch on floaters, push shots, extension lays, and turn-arounds is also pretty advanced. Want to see him use his quickness, basketball IQ and understanding of angles to become a menace point of attack defender for the Knights this season.
