-The skill development is paying dividends for Sauritch as a shooter that provides some crucial floor-spacing for a super talented 15u Durant group. Sauritch hit a jumper early on but did a great job against Team Canada of using his shooting gravity to freeze his opponents with a pump fake before he drove to the rim and finished off a high-pickup euro step with the sweeping left-handed layup off the window. If he can continue to develop the handle to enable him to pass off a live dribble with either hand, it will make those drives to the paint even more dangerous with the play-making aspect added into the mix. With his IQ, shooting, a developing floor game, and an improved attention detail to the defensive side of the ball– he is building a pretty safe floor for himself as a prospect.

-Sauritch will likely step into a big role with a Bullis team that graduated 4 starters and will need his shooting/connecting ability from the wings to chase another IAC title this season. Love the way that he does his work early of scanning the floor before he catches the ball to gauge closeouts, where the help defenders are, and what his move needs to be before the ball is swung his way. With good positional size, a strong work ethic, and a signature trait that is in high demand— I expect him to turn heads this ceiling.

-Forecasting a consistent role for Sauritch in his freshman season as a heady shooter that understands the value of open looks. Sauritch has good positional size but he’s already pretty advanced about reading the defense in ball screen situations to either reject or sit behind screens for open looks from 3. Shooters have always really thrived in the spread offense that Bullis runs and if the summer is any indication, that trend should continue as I expect him to develop into one of the most accurate snipers in the area.

-Didn’t impact the game a ton on the stat sheet but really liked the flashes that I saw from the incoming guard. Sauritch isn’t really bothered by ball pressure and can deal with double teams and traps pretty easily as a saavy guard that can play 1-3. The jumper looked fluid but he understands when to take an open look and when to make the one-more pass to shift the defense and find the best possible look for the offense. If he can continue to grow a few more inches and add more back foot burst, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him play a key role for the Bulldogs this season as a floor-spacer that doesn’t dominate the ball or kill offensive flow with bad shots.

-Liked the maturity and feel from Sauritch in this one. The incoming freshman guard understands when to swing the ball, when to slow the pace and run a set, when to feed the big and move off the ball– he just seems acclimated to the pace of play already. Fresh off a tough 3 that sent the last game to OT, Sauritch was effective in spacing the floor and providing some secondary playmaking for a Bullis team looking to replace a lot of the firepower from last year’s graduating class. If he’s able to serve as an effective connector that can make decisions quickly on the fly while providing floor-spacing C+S ability from the perimeter– he can earn himself a crucial role on this year’s team.
