Colby Giacubeno | Prep Hoops Scout
Composed floor general that did a nice job of controlling the pace for New World. Plays with instincts and a high-level feel in getting to his spots, creating opportunities for others as he draws an additional defender and can come through when his own number is called. It wasn’t a dominant performance for Posey, but the mistakes were limited and you can tell his presence on the ball provides stability and calmness when the pressure is high.

-Posey is one of the more creative ballhandlers and scorers in the area, stepping into a big role with SMR in year one as a guard prospect that should be one of their leaders in both scoring and assists this season. He does a great job of keeping his dribble alive while probing the defense, with a handle advanced enough to scan the floor with his head up the entire time—often a rarity for freshman PGs. His touch on floaters, push shots, extension lays, and turn-arounds is also pretty advanced. Want to see him use his quickness, basketball IQ and understanding of angles to become a menace point of attack defender for the Knights this season.

Slick ball handling guard. Landon played with a lot of confidence throughout the 1-day camp. Got in the lane/paint with no problem. Showed quick moves off the dribble. Landon showed himself to be one of the better passers in the camp. A young PG to keep an eye on in the future. Especially if he grows and gets stronger.

Landon used his sharp and smooth handle to slice through the defense and create all afternoon. I really liked his way Landon used his speed to control where he wanted to be on the floor. Used change of pace very well this afternoon to score in the midrange, attack the rack, or make plays for his teammates. Always kept his head on a swivel while breaking through defensive coverages. Landon showed he can shoot the ball at any spot on the floor off the dribble or spotting up deep. Big time guard skills were showcased from the incoming Ryken freshman.
