The Expo: New Jersey Team 5 Reports

The Expo: New Jersey had five 5-on-5 teams that played this past Saturday with prospects flashing throughout the day. Team 5 was filled with an intriguing combination of talent, which they put on display during the game sessions. Here are the reports for Team 5 at The Expo: New Jersey.    Maida flashed during the day as he showed his ability to play on the wing and in the post. The 6'4 forward showed off a good release on his jumper and was knocking down shots off both the catch and bounce. Maida also used his handle to get into the paint off the bounce and finished nicely around the rim. He showed the potential to defend multiple positions on the floor and was able to create space for himself off the ball. Maida's ability to stretch the floor is something that will help rise his stock throughout the 2025-26 season.     Johnson shined during The Expo as he made plays at both ends throughout the day. The 6'5 wing showed off his smooth jumper as he wasted little motion in his release and rose up with confidence on his shot. Johnson attacked the basket with a purpose as he threw down a couple of dunks and was able to find his open teammates in the half. He blocked several shots around the rim and showed the ability to push the tempo in transition. Johnson has the potential to have a breakout season with his ability to score the ball inside and out.     Sullivan might have only played in the first 5-on-5 game, but that didn't stop him from making his impact felt. The 6'5 forward exploded off the floor for dunks and also showed off good vision in the half court with several dimes to his teammates. Sullivan showed that he could play on the perimeter as he put the ball on the floor and knocked down a couple of triples off the bounce. He ripped down rebounds on both ends of the floor and influenced a ton of shots around the rim. Sullivan's ability to consistently stretch the floor is something that will help his game take the next step this season.     Brown was one of the most intriguing prospects at The Expo as he flashed the potential to play either spot on the perimeter. The 6'5 wing used his handle to get to his spot on the floor and was able to push the tempo in transition. Brown threw down a couple of dunks during the day and also showed a good release on his jumper. He used his length to make plays on the defensive end and worked hard for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Brown is a lanky wing prospect who should impact the game at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.     Taylor Jr put his game on display throughout the session as he made plays with the ball in his hands. The 6'0 guard used his tight handle to get to his spot on the floor and finished nicely around the rim. Taylor Jr wasted little motion in his release and showed the ability to shoot off the catch and bounce. He slid his feet on the defensive end and was able to find his open teammates in the half court. Taylor can put up points in bunches, but his ability to run the offense efficiently is something that will help his stock throughout the course of the season.     Huynh made a big impact during the game sessions as he showed his shooting ability. The 5'10 guard has a quick release on his jumper and was able to get hot from distance in a hurry. Huynh moved well without the ball in his hands and rarely forced jumpers in the half court. He played with the ball in his hands at times and moved his feet on the defensive end. Huynh is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose ability to get his teammates involved will help his development over the next couple of months.     Mory played with a nonstop motor throughout the day, which helped his stock in a big way. The 5'10 guard dove on the floor for loose balls and fought for offensive rebounds during the game sessions. Mory moved well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He rarely forced jumpers in the half court and worked hard on the defensive end. Mory is a gritty guard prospect who should continue to help his team win games with his willingness to give up his body for a victory.     Joseph had his moments throughout the day as he never let the moment get too big for him. The 5'6 guard played with decisiveness on the ball as he got to his spot on the floor and rarely got sped up by on-ball pressure. Joseph also showed the ability to score in the mid-range and set his feet before he shot. He got deflections on the defensive end and found his open teammates in the half court. Joseph has the ability to play both on and off the ball, which he should put on display during the course of the season.     Beverly might have been one of the younger prospects at The Expo, but that didn't stop him from making plays. The 5'3 guard wasted little motion on his release and knocked down multiple jumpers from behind the arc. Beverly moved well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the half court. He made smart passes throughout the day and made it tough for his man to get to his spot on the floor. Beverly is a hard-working guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance this season.     Valdivieso worked hard throughout the day and is looking to bring that over into the season. The 5'8 guard moved his feet on the defensive end and was able to get deflections. Valdivieso shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc and set his feet before he shot. He rarely forced jumpers in the half court and moved well without the ball in his hands. Valdiviseo is a gritty guard prospect who should impact the game at both ends of the floor throughout the season.
