delivered a standout performance that highlighted so much of his offensive skillset from a playmaking guard perspective. An explosive 32 point performance against Montclair highlighted Taylor’s feel as a scorer and ability to score it in bunches— particularly attacking closeouts for soft touch floaters and tough layups in traffic and shining as a perimeter shot maker creating separation off the bounce and hitting shots off the dribble as well as a in rhythm spot up shooter. Leveraging the closeouts he receives as a dangerous three point shooter, Taylor Jr didn’t let him being undersized stop him from continuing to attack closeouts off the bounce to absorb contact and generate ample trips to the free throw line. Taylor Jr was also extremely effective in transition— often times being in the right position at the right time on the defensive end to capitalize off turnovers in the open floor.

Taylor Jr put his game on display throughout the session as he made plays with the ball in his hands. The 6’0 guard used his tight handle to get to his spot on the floor and finished nicely around the rim. Taylor Jr wasted little motion in his release and showed the ability to shoot off the catch and bounce. He slid his feet on the defensive end and was able to find his open teammates in the half court. Taylor can put up points in bunches, but his ability to run the offense efficiently is something that will help his stock throughout the course of the season.

Taylor Jr. is a threat to score the basketball in every way possible as this season he averaged over 16.1 ppg. His jump shot is smooth and quick from downtown as he hit 65 three-pointers. He uses his quick handles to get to the rim and finish over taller players fairly easily thanks to his soft touch. Taylor Jr. can hit some tough contested shots from anywhere on the court because of his zero hesitation when looking to score. His speed was also a problem for defenses especially on the fastbreak with him flying up and down the court with defenders trailing him.
