I was in Novi yesterday officiating varsity games for the Big Cat Basketball Fall League. Brighton, Hartland, and the HEA Firebirds were all teams I've never seen in person play before but played solid basketball. Below are five players from those three teams that played well.

Our state needs more basketball players like [player_tooltip player_id='1933877' first='Parker' last='Sundman']. A top-tier shooter that carries himself like an adult on the basketball floor. He competes on both ends, and honestly, could probably be a little more selfish on offense. Don't be surprised if the 2025 Livingston County Boys' Basketball Player of the Year, gets some Division 1 All-State Votes after the high school season.

I watched the stream of Lovejoy torching Linden last year in the season opener for 25 points. On Sunday, he had a similar shooting day in Novi, consistently hitting perimeter jumpers and was setting up his teammates as well. It's also refreshing to see players like Brandon who are aware of the rules and can hold a basketball-intelligent conversation with an official.

I'm not too familiar with the state of homeschool basketball players in Michigan but maybe I should be. Roman plays very hard on both ends of the floor, which I especially appreciate in meaningless fall-league games. He even put down a big time dunk in transition.

Clearly is one of the teammate-favorites of the Brighton squad. Playing backup lead-guard, the incoming freshman did a solid job taking care of the ball and creating driving lanes against upperclassmen all-day. And despite being undersized currently, he held his own on the defensive end. It will be interesting to see what his role will be in November amidst a solid Brighton program and how Suardini progresses throughout his freshman campaign.

A football-first kid, and it makes sense after witnessing his mentality on the court. Over the course of the day, I didn't see a single player give more effort on the defensive end than Brad. A gritty on-ball defender that displayed impressive footwork and active hands in both games.
