This weekend I attended the inaugural AZ Hoops JAMboree presented by Marcel Reece at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. There were two brackets of 16 each with 32 total teams. I watched 24 teams and here was my rundown of the event.

2nd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2457665' first='Viktor' last='Babic'] Perry

A bigger wing forward plays with some feel for the game who can make some plays. He can pour in points with mid-range pull-ups, fall aways in the post, he gets on the glass to score with offensive rebound put backs, gets downhill with his handle and will drill triples one by one. He is quickly becoming one of the hardest wings to defend in the AIA.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412268' first='Maurice' last='Carter II'] Willow Canyon

A big time shot maker is a scoring point guard. He will burst to the basket with his next level speed. He attacks the basket like his life depends on it. Once he gets into the lane, he can handle the contact well and score thru it. He can make contested shots in the lane, shoot the three and pull-up up from mid. He also rebounds well for his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='1768202' first='Marquice' last='Cole Jr'] Hamilton

A bigger guard is nearly impossible to stop from getting to his spots. He gets a step on you and he is at the basket with a layup, dunk or free throw attempts. When he is hitting his pull-up from mid to the three, he is one of the toughest to contain in the AIA. He is also highly competitive to defend on the ball and rebound.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956218' first='Marcus' last='Isaac'] Mountain Pointe

A very tall and long power forward with bounce and budding skill. He shoots it easily with mid-range jumpers with a high arcing stroke, he can step out and shoot the three and dunks it way above the rim with offensive rebound put backs. He will chase rebounds and will also use a drop step into a dunk or layup. He is oozing with upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2370259' first='Terry' last='McKinney III'] Millennium (Pictured)

A bigger wing who can play the four spot as well. He will grab and go and push it up the court. He will shoot it consistently from mid-range and he can extend it to the three. He has soft hands to rebound and go up quickly to score. He finished the semi final game with an impressive poster dunk.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482164' first='Desean' last='Middlebrook'] Basha

A high motored wing forward is a top of the food chain rebounder. He is improving his skill with mid-range jumpers. He posts ups with layups and hook shots and he will do a quick rip thru with his speed and long strides. He runs the floor and will block shots defending opponents in space.

[player_tooltip player_id='1697292' first='Rylan' last='Parsley'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A bigger wing with length and athleticism. He is a good passer and defender to go along with his shooting from the three point line. He can get downhill and score it with and-1's and he gets hot quickly from the three point line. His ability to defend in space makes him a long-term 3 and D.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194474' first='Isaiah' last='Rider IV'] Higley

A calm and tough scoring point guard. He hits big shots in the lane and loves the deep ball. He is a good on-ball defender and runs in transition for layups. He will come off screens and will fire away or give a hard ball fake and get to the basket. He consistently shows you why he is the #1 freshmen.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291974' first='Nick' last='Reber'] Highland

A strong guard with some size, skill and a little athleticism. He gets downhill naturally with his strong frame and good handle. He will hit the catch three, step back from his opponent and he is a physical on-ball defender. He will also sneak up on you and dunk it in the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id='1780586' first='Romell' last='Shields'] Centennial

A 3 and D type of scoring guard who will defend many of the teams best opponents. He slows down his opponents and collects steal and rebounds well with his stronger frame and length. He will score it with mid-range pull-ups and threes off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875718' first='Melvin' last='Stubbs Jr'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A hyper athletic wing forward will defend multiple positions with his length, lateral quickness and athleticism. He will hit the catch three, score with some eye-popping alley-oops and he had many bail out passes seeing the court better then many point guards.
