The CBG JUCO/Prep Showdown took place in Henrico last week, as one of the few events on the east coast that permit division one schools to attend and evaluate players. While we've already done plenty on standouts, here's a look at seven seniors who impressed college coaches and increased their stock with their play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459400' first='Amir' last='Savage'] | 6'4” SF | Saint Michael 2026

Savage has been a staple for Saint Michael's rise over the past few years, and now that he's going into his senior season he's solidified as the go-to guy and is showing he's worth scholarship looks with his play this fall. He showed his ability to play in different roles as he sometimes played on the ball as the initiator and playmaker and other times he was off the ball and showed he can work to get open and get shots too. He stuffed the stat sheet across the board, scored the ball efficiently from all three levels, and he made plays for others as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1782663' first='Devin' last='Toatley'] | 6'0” PG | Bethel 2026

Toatley is an absolute nightmare to be matched up with, as he is lightning in a bottle with his quickness and ability to put tremendous pressure on the defense with the ball in his hands, while also providing ball pressure on the defensive end too. He is an absolute blur in transition, and has the ability to get downhill and get to the rim at will where he's an acrobatic and athletic finisher when he gets there. He showed explosive finishing ability above the rim in transition, he showed he can create space and separate with the ball in his hands to create his own shot, he made plays for others, and he was an absolute menace on the defensive end picking up full court and creating havoc off the ball too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242380' first='Ruey' last='Ruey'] | 6'4” SG | Massanutten 2026

Ruey is perhaps the most under recruited player in the country, after being a big part of Massanutten's success on the national prep circuit since he was a sophomore, and at the Showdown he solidified that with a couple of big time performances as well. The 6'4” wing filled it up scoring in buckets and doing so efficiently, and he also did a lot of the little things we've come to see of him to help his team win at the event. He shot the ball well off the catch from deep, he showed his ability to work in isolation and score it in a variety of ways from multiple levels, he didn't force things and made the right play consistently, and he was great defensively using his instincts to jump passing lanes and challenge shots too.

Jordan Watson | 6'1” PG | Carmel School 2026

Watson had a good junior season at Carmel, but now that he's the primary ball handler and playmaker for this group he showed he'll be one of the top guards in the RVA area this year. The 6'1” lead guard oozes toughness and has an all-around game that makes him able to impact it as a scorer, distributor and on the defensive end with his ball pressure too. He scored it efficiently off the bounce and showed his ability to get downhill and put pressure on the defensive, he finished well over bigger defenders, he made the right read when he got in the teeth of the defense, and he set the tone on both ends of the floor with his high motor.

Gabe D'Alessandro | 6'4” WG | Miller School 2026

D'Alessansdro missed all of last season with a hip injury, and he came back this summer and has looked better and better throughout the time, and now he had a great showing in front of college coaches showing he's healthy and back to his ways. He shot the ball very well from deep off the catch with effortless range and good form, he was good as a secondary ball handler who made the right plays, and he showed toughness on both ends of the floor. He is the type of player who understands the game and brings a great motor as someone who can impact the game across the board.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347779' first='Nick' last='Byrd'] | 5'10” PG | S3 Academy 2026

Byrd continues his very strong showing this fall, and he saw a lot of college coaches keeping eyes on him throughout his games at the event. The 5'10” lead guard is one of a kind floor general, as he did a great job handling pressure and getting them into sets, and showing his ability and understanding of how to control tempo and make plays both in transition and within the flow of the offense, He scored the ball efficiently off the bounce from all three levels, he showed his ability to guard the ball the length of the floor, and he showed his ability to break down defenders in pick-and-rolls and in isolation as well.

Jaiden Arnold | 6'1” PG | Fork Union 2026

Fork Union came to the event with a brand new team like they always do, and while there were plenty of players that caught the eye of college coaches, Arnold was one of the most dynamic guards in the entire event and wowed college coaches with his ability to control the game and make plays off the bounce. He showed great change of pace and change of direction, as he was blazing fast in transition to push and put pressure on the defense, while also showing his ability to change levels and use hesitations and crossovers to beat defenders in the half court. He showed great vision and pin-point passing ability, he made shots from deep and in the midrange area off the bounce, he showed great instincts defensively both on the ball and jumping passing lanes, and he finished very well over bigger defenders in traffic.
