The Expo: Team 6 Evals

The Expo had the gym packed full of top notch talent! Team 6 certainly had their roster full of skilled athletes. Each member of this team had next level moments in Grand Rapids! We're going to take a closer look at each player from Team 6. The young man has game and was fun to watch. Barnes has a good frame and and good body control both with and without the ball in his hands. Barnes has the ability to straight line attack the rim. I saw his strength and physicality help him to successfully finish at the rim.     I knew that there was something I liked about his game when I saw him during high school season. Swearingen came to Grand Rapids and sent a message. He can be a real playmaker from the perimeter. He could attack the rim athletically and even adjusted in the air on a finish. Swearingen played very well off contact, even showing the ability to initiate it. He was also a 2 way player that played D with a lot of heart.     Cannon was one of the most impressive players in the gym. He had people talking from the start of The Expo. Cannon was at his best when getting downhill. This was very evident when he used a ball fake and take to get an bucket at the rim. Cannon created shots with his ability to smoothly change direction with the ball in his hands. He wasn't just a scorer though, as I saw him step in front of a ballhandler and take a charge.     I've seen up close and personal exactly how good [player_tooltip player_id='2410383' first='Brayden' last='Favors'] is. Well, I got to see it again on Saturday. He can hoop. It's that simple. Favors has a next level frame and the ability to attack and score from basically anywhere on the floor. He can handle at a high level and the very next possession, set on the block and post his man. Favors showed range on his jumper with a triple and showed that he could hit a moving target with a pass.     Calvin came to Grand Rapids and showed off his skills. He's going to be a dangerous guard this high school season and one that scouts are now very aware of. I was really impressed with Calvin's fast first step. He showed that he could use it to put a defender on his hip. He ran the floor well, getting a transition finish through a taller defender. Calvin showed his shooting prowess with an impressive pull up triple.     Johnson is a skilled guard out of Benton Harbor. I should have that on repeat for Prep Hoops showcase events. He impressed with how he played with pace and in the open floor. He understood spacing and filled a lane. Johnson did a nice job hitting the sideline as an outlet option and moving the ball from there. Let's not forget his perimeter defense too. Johnson picked up some impressive stops.     O'Dowd left his mark at The Expo in Grand Rapids. He's a really skilled guard that can make plays with the ball in his hands. O'Dowd can work as a primary ball handler that can and will get it to it's spots. He plays a smart game and understands what a good look at the rim really looks like. O'Dowd can use his handles to create space, and in turn, create opportunities for himself and his teammates.     Maynard had a great day in Grand Rapids at The Expo. He was a really efficient and high percentage guard throughout the day. Maynard made good decisions with the ball. He didn't over dribble or force things and successfully let the game come to him. Maynard showed off a smooth jumper when he buried a triple from the top.     Beckum will be a player to watch without a doubt. He definitely caught some eyes. Beckum was long and athletic. He was really active around the rim. Beckum seemed to be a threat on the glass at both ends of the floor. Beckum had good feet underneath him and moved really well. He looks like he could be a real threat as a cutter off the wing.
