I saw Calvin hit a couple triples last Saturday. The first he stayed focused with traffic around him and hit a 3 from the top. The second, he buried a triple off a catch and shoot from the top again.

Calvin came to Grand Rapids and showed off his skills. He’s going to be a dangerous guard this high school season and one that scouts are now very aware of. I was really impressed with Calvin’s fast first step. He showed that he could use it to put a defender on his hip. He ran the floor well, getting a transition finish through a taller defender. Calvin showed his shooting prowess with an impressive pull up triple.

Plymouth has something in the works with this young guard. Calvin is very dangerous with the ball in his hands. He has nice straight line speed with the ball as well as an instant speed burst that puts his defenders on his hips and helps him penetrate the lane. Calvin is comfortable and effective taking his man 1-on-1 and attacking the rim.
