We had approximately 65 Sophomores through Seniors in the gym at MidAmerica East on Sunday afternoon, including several of the top Sophomores in the state. Here are some new names that impressed me on Saturday. Keep in mind that I did not see every prospect play so there will probably be some names left off the list who played well. These are only the top players that I scouted, personally.

Higdon was impressive on Sunday by doing what he was capable of and not forcing a bunch of stuff. Jacob played hard, rebounded well for a guard and showed he can take and make a ton of threes. CAL's roster is pretty loaded with young talent but I'd expect Jacob to find a way into the rotation and be an impactful role player this season.

Xavier made the trip over the bridge to compete on Sunday and he took advantage of his chance to impress. Harvey is a big body with some obvious skill level around the bucket. He showed himself to be a good two handed rebounder who also drilled multiple threes in the 5 on 5 action. If Xavier can improve his conditioning, he's a big time difference maker.

Cooper was a totally new name to me on Sunday and was very competitive in my first viewing of him. Justice is a big who was able to move on both ends and offer some rim protection on defense with the ability to rebound and finish put backs on offense. Cooper needs to continue developing his lateral quickness but he should be an X factor for Pike Central.

A long and athletic wing prospect, Martell plays hard and has a lot of upside. He' needs to continue to develop his perimeter skills but it's clear that Tuttle has a good motor and is very competitive. With the ability to switch across multiple positions on defense, Martell has a chance to be a very disruptive force on that end of the court. Certainly a name to track, moving forward.

Micah was among the most impressive prospects to me on Sunday and was definitely the most eye popping 2028 that I had not already seen. Blessed with great size, it's clear that Freeman has some serious potential. He made the most of his offensive opportunities in 5 on 5 and showed he can hit threes. He made two in a row before missing the third. Once he becomes more consistent, Freeman should be a fast rising Sophomore in Louisville.
