Rankings Release: The 2028 Centers

Rankings coverage continues for the Class of 2028 with a look at the Centers!   The top overall spot at the Center position is held by Mount Saint Charles Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='2964812' first='Franklin' last='Okeke'] (#16). A 6'11" big man, Okeke is a newcomer to the rankings, but is primed to make a major impact this winter. He's a plus athlete, with long arms, and the ability to operate as a high level rim protector, while showing signs of an improving offensive game.   Below are five more Centers to watch from the latest rankings update:    Malcore, a big out of the Kents Hill School, checks in at #34 overall and #4 among the centers. Malcore is a mobile and versatile 6'9" big, that clearly still has his best basketball ahead of him. Defensively, his positional size and length are an asset, as he makes a big impact on the glass and as a rim protector. He does a nice job of running the floor in transition, has some developing range on his jumper, and is a capable finisher with his athleticism and strength. He is a good screener that can operate as a roller or pop guy and shows a nice understanding of how to score within the flow of an offense.     Rye, a big out of Worcester Academy, checks in at #41 overall and #6 among the centers. Rye is a solid athlete that embraces who he is on the offensive end of the floor. At 6'9", he has good size on the interior and plays with the physicality needed to finish around the rim. He can stretch the floor with his shooting, has good instincts as a cutter, and is a capable offensive rebounder. Defensively, he does a nice job of moving his feet when switched onto the perimeter, walls up without fouling in the post, and can really go get the basketball off the glass.     Aubakirov, a big out of the Frederick Gunn School in Connecticut, checks in at #52 overall and #8 among the centers. Aubakirov is a formidable presence in the paint at 6'11" with broad shoulders, but also shows a nice amount of skill and feel for the game. He's already a solid rim runner, has the ability to score over either shoulder with his back to the basket, and makes some nice passes out of double teams in the post. Defensively, he doesn't give up deep post postion, is a strong rebounder in traffic, and does a nice job of walling up to defend without fouling.     Seymour, a big out of Greens Farms Academy in Connecticut, checks in at #69 overall and #9 among the centers. Seymour has grown to about 6'7" and still plays with a high level of versatility on the offensive end of the floor. He can step out and knock down a catch and shoot three, is capable of making decisions from the top of the key with the ball in his hands, and does a nice job of scoring with strength at the rim. On the other end of the floor, he is vocal on the back line of defense and has the strength needed to defend in the paint against bigger opponents.     Dowling, a big out of Pentucket Regional High School in Massachusetts, checks in at #105 overall and #11 among the centers. Dowling is a versatile, 6'5" big that has long arms and does a nice job of quickly covering space on the defensive end of the floor. He's a plus shot blocker that has great recovery instincts and does a nice job of rebounding with a high motor. Offensively, he cleans up on put backs, does a nice job of hard rolling out of screens, and even shows the ability to face up on the perimeter and attack slower footed defenders off the bounce.
