<p>Below are ten prospects from New England that recently made their college plans official.</p>

<p>Edmond, one of the region's top athletes out of <em>Putnam Science Academy</em>, put an end to his recruitment with a commitment to <strong><em>Siena University</em></strong>. A highlight reel waiting to happen in the open floor, he's done a great job of developing his skill with the basketball in his hands, while continuing to play with a high level of versatility on the defensive end of the floor. He scores is at the rim off the bounce, can knock down shots from behind the arc, and rebounds with authority above the rim. He'll have the chance to make an immediate impact in the <em>MAAC</em> and could develop into an all-league performer at that level.</p>

<p>Scroggins, a versatile hybrid forward out of <em>Kimball Union Academy</em>, wrapped up his recruitment when he announced that he'll attend <strong><em>Valparaiso University</em></strong>. At 6'8", he has a ton of offensive versatility, with the ability to score it at all three levels. He makes shots from behind the arc, has great touch in the mid-range, and can makes plays off the bounce against more traditional forwards. He competes on the defensive glass and does a nice job of guarding up and down a position, showing a good understanding of how to play angles. He's a quality recruiting in the <em>Missouri Valley Conference</em> that could carve out a role as soon as his first year on campus.</p>

<p>Chess, a talented scoring guard out of <em>St. George's School</em>, decided to end his recruitment with a commitment to <strong><em>Marist College</em></strong>. He's competitive, tough, and has done a great job of developing his skill level over the last 18 months. He's physically developed and is hard to guard when he gets downhill off the bounce, showing an ability to finish in a variety of ways in the paint. He's a pure scorer that also shines on the defensive end of the floor with his ability to guard any perimeter spot and make an impact on the glass. He's another prospect that could rise to the level of all-conference performer in the <em>MAAC</em> and should make an impact in Poughkeepsie from Day 1.</p>

<p>Griffin, a two-way hybrid forward out of the <em>Westminster School</em>, made his college plans official when he announced his commitment to <strong><em>Alcorn State University</em></strong>. The 6'9" forward has impressive athletic pop and the ability to finish plays with authority around the rim. He cuts hard from the perimeter, does a great job of rolling out of ball screens, and has stretched his game to the perimeter over the last year. Defensively, he rebounds it at a high level and with his lateral mobility, has the ability to defend in the paint and on the perimeter. He is a great fit in the <em>SWAC</em> and should eventually play a major role with his two-way versatility and impact.</p>

<p>Cote, a jack-of-all-trades wing out of <em>Trinity High School</em>, solidified his plans for the future with an announcement that he'll attend <strong><em>Colby-Sawyer College</em></strong>. The 6'3" wing plays with great effort on both ends of the floor, does a nice job of moving without the basketball, and reads plays before they develop defensively. He's got the ability to play through contact, finishes with length around the rim, and shows a budding ability to make shots from behind the arc. He'll have a chance to carve out an impact role in his time on campus and could be a good player in the <em>GNAC</em>.</p>

<p>Afolabi, an athletic guard out of the <em>Dexter Southfield School</em>, finalized his plans for the next level and announced that he'll attend <strong><em>Assumption University</em></strong>. The 6'2" combo guard is a high level defender that does a great job of moving his feet to keep opposing ball-handlers out of the paint, while also generating steals and deflections at a high rate. Offensively, he's capable of getting by the initial defender off the bounce, is a high level finisher around the rim, and continues to develop his playmaking and perimeter scoring. He's a nice fit in the <em>Northeast-10</em> and has the potential to be one of the more athletic and talented guards in the league down the road.</p>

<p>Baum, a highly skilled forward out of the <em>Noble & Greenough School</em>, wrapped up his recruitment early when he committed to <strong><em>Bowdoin College</em></strong>. At 6'8", he has the ability to impact games on the interior, but shines with his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. He displays good floor vision, the ability to pass out of the post, and some creation ability off the bounce in space. Defensively, he's a grab and go rebounder that has the ability to rotate onto the perimeter in switches. He's a terrific fit in the <em>NESCAC</em> where his unique skillset should make him a mismatch offensively as soon as he steps foot on campus.</p>

<p>Hatchett, a terrific defender out of <em>Putnam Science Academy</em>, came off the board when he announced that he'll attend <strong><em>Fairfield University</em></strong>. He has elite footspeed and the ability to stay in front of any ball-handler. With quick hands and terrific quickness, he's able to generate steals both on and off the basketball. He's a confident ball-handler that makes good reads in ball screens and has proven that he's a capable scorer at multiple levels. He has the potential to make a Day 1 impact and should develop into one of the best defensive guards in the <em>MAAC</em> in time.</p>

<p>Clachko, a big time scorer out of <em>Staples High School</em>, ended his recruitment when he announced that he'll attend <strong><em>Connecticut College</em></strong>. The lead guard is as competitive as they come and proved himself to be one of the region's top perimeter shooters this summer. He makes a lot of the little winning plays on the defensive end of the floor, has deep range on his jumper, and has shown that he can run an offense when asked. His ability to make movement or standstill threes is high level. He'll have a chance to make an immediate impact and could eventually develop into one of the better scoring guards in the <em>NESCAC</em>.</p>

<p>Sylla, a dominate interior presence out of <em>Bridgton Academy</em>, finalized his plans for the next level with a commitment to the <strong><em>University of Massachusetts Amherst.</em></strong> One of the top big men in the region, he takes over games with his physicality and ability to score the basketball around the rim. The left has a variety of scoring moves in the low post, sets solid screens on the perimeter, and has a huge catch radius with quality hands. His defensive rebounding is a standout skill and he doesn't give up ground defensively in the post. He could compete for major minutes in his first year on campus and has the chance to develop into one of the top big men in the <em>Mid-American Conference</em>.</p>
