to a season ending injury. Nobles currently sits at the top of the A standings with a 13-2 record in league games and is paced by a balanced offensive attack. Baum operates as a mismatch for opposing defenses due to his ability to create for others with the ball in his hands on the periemter. He does a nice job of getting downhill off the bounce and can finish in a variety of ways around the rim. Where he’s really stepped up this year is on the defensive end of the floor, where his ability to alter shots at the rim and to control the defensive glass is something his team can count on night in and night out. Baum will continue his playing career in the fall at Bowdoin.

Baum might be Nobles’ most important player because of his versatility on both ends. Offensively, he can act as a hub and is a great player with and without the ball; he’s an amazing backdoor passer and found tons of teammates for looks against Brunswick, but he can also pull the Draymond Green and continue on to the rim for finishes. Defensively, his size and length allows him to guard multiple positions effectively. He’ll kill it at Bowdoin next year.

Baum, a playmaking forward out of Noble & Greenough School in Massachusetts, was among the top big men at the event, showcasing his feel for the game, ability to handle in space, and versatility on the defensive end of the floor. He does a nice job of initiating offense in the half-court, but also has the ability to score with his back to the basket and in the mid-range. The high academic prospect continues to play with a high motor and is rebounding with more aggressiveness, with a frame that looks like it’s filled out a little. He’s incredibly versatility and impresses with his willingness to make plays that lead to winning.

Baum is a skilled forward who makes plays on both ends. He is a sneaky athlete who can finish above the rim. Baum thrives as a rim runner. He found ways to convert buckets around crowds of defenders. Baum has an energetic motor and has no issue making hustle plays. His ability to put the ball on the deck in the half-court was seen often. Baum has a nice blend of length, size, and athleticism. He would be a nice pick-up at the division two level.

Baum has had a really nice spring season and looks to only be getting better. The 6-foot-8 forward does a really good job attacking the paint and finishing with both hands off the glass, but he can also be an offensive hub on the perimeter. He throws so many nice backdoor passes and really understands screening angles, so he’s effective as a dribble hand-off player. The Nobles junior will definitely be highly sought after at the D3 level and could even potentially get some scholarship looks if he improves his outside shooting stroke. Bright future ahead.

Baum, a skilled big out of the Noble & Greenough School, has looked more comfortable than ever on the court this spring while playing for the Middlesex Magic on the HGAL circuit. A high IQ big with an impressive feel for the game when he has the ball in his hands, he’s playing harder and with more physicality than he has in the past. He has an improved motor as a rebounder, moves his feet well which allows him to guard multiple positions, and can block shots from the help side. Offensively, He can handle the ball in space, breaks down defenders off the bounce as a driver, and shows impressive floor vision as a passer. He’s one of the more versatile offensive big men in the region.

Baum is a super intriguing prospect who really surprised me with his combination of athleticism, size and length. The 6-foot-8 forward is able to play on the perimeter as a result of his quickness and agility, but he likes to glide to the rim for finishes when larger defenders play up on him; he had a bunch of really nice lefty takes to the rim where he extended to finish far out ahead of the defense. Baum’s also an excellent passer for his size (can throw one-handed passes effectively with both hands), which allows him to act as an offensive hub. Definite D3 player with scholarship potential if he can improve his shot and strength.

Baum, a rankings riser in the spring, had a nice summer on the travel circuit with the Middlesex Magic. A versatile big man, Baum has continued to show signs of being able to play in the post or on the perimeter. He does a nice job of putting the ball on the floor as a straight line driver, but continues to excel around the rim. He’s got good hands, soft touch in the paint, and the ability to finish over bigger defenders with floaters and short jumpers. Defensively, he’s capable of guarding on the wing or in the post, utilizing his length to keep opposing ball-handlers in front of him while still contesting shots at the rim. On top of all that, he’s a high motor rebounder that shows great pursuit of the ball in space. He’s a solid prospect that should have a big role this winter at Nobles and will undoubtedly be on college coaches radars come the spring.

is a score-first forward, who is most dangerous creating for himself. He can get to the hole and finish with either hand with effectiveness. Baum is comfortable shooting off the bounce and creating open shots for himself. He is lights out in the post, and has mastered the fall-away mid-range jumper that combines footwork and skill. Baum can also stretch the floor from downtown, with open-ups his drives to the rim in ball-handling scenarios. Defensively, he stays vertical for his shot contests and can block shots at the rim. Baum will also play the passing lanes for steals in the open court. The mix of mid-range prowess, creativity off the bounce, and shot-blocking ability makes him a standout and should be heavily followed by programs and coaches.

Baum is an intriguing prospect that should continue to rise up the rankings as he develops physically. Defensively, he’s best around the rim, both as a shot blocker and defensive rebounder. On offense, he shows signs of being able to consistently make perimeter jumpers, but really excels in screen-and-roll situations right now. He has a good feel for when to roll, pop, or slip screens and creates scoring opportunities off his cuts out of these actions. He’s willing to mix it up in the paint and does a good job of finishing through traffic. His IQ allows him to make good reads with or without the ball and he’s a capable passer out of the post and double-teams.
