Eye Catchers at Team Oklahoma Tryouts

Arguably the standout performer from the 2028 session. McNeely was quick and a handful off the bounce. Importantly, he doesn't drive just to score. He was very good at getting downhill and making good passes to keep the offense flowing. Had flashes of locking in and being a real havoc causer with his quickness on the defensive end. Which will be important for him to make an impact this winter at Edmond Memorial.   While it was a lot of defense and creation that stood-out for the rising sophomore, he did have a takeover moment as a scorer. Has good elevation to match his quickness, making him a tough acrobatic finisher around the rim. And hit in the 15-18 foot range. Exciting prospect to watch, who could really rise this winter.     Second time to watch Robinson this month and he continued his rock steady play. Plays strong and fast, while being in more control of his decision making on offense. And uniquely for a setting of a camp/tryout, he brought the clamps out on defense. Did a great job of blending his strength and moving his feet to stay with and cut off driving opponents. Even when matched up with the quickest players at the court. Robinson will be playing with a loaded high school team this winter, so his scoring production might not always be the loudest. But if he can make defense his focus on a winning squad, his impact will be louder than others with higher point totals.     The Westmoore Jaguar has great end to end speed, and outstanding short area burst. He's shifty and very hard to keep out of the lane in the halfcourt. While also being a blur in transition. Wasn't his best day as a perimeter shooter. But has a bit of a bag when finishing around the rim. Even with one legged moves to score tough buckets against taller defenders.     Smedley is a rock solid big guard. Gets his within in the flow of the offense, with scoring from 12 feet and in. Especially as he has good hang time for tough finishes around the rim. Will make the right passes. Knocked down open threes as well, providing floor spacing. Quality athlete, with a Swiss Army Knife type aspect to his game.     Promising signs for the Piedmont sophomore. Had moments of being a creator for others, with good drives and kicks in the half court. And pushing the tempo with his head up in transiton. Can fall in love with his dribble a bit too much in the halfcourt. But he closed out the 5 on 5 play more efficiently. With a sneaky strong shooting display of multiple three pointers. Most of them coming off catch and shoot opportunties.     Armstead has promising physical tools. Is a taller guard, with a frame that indicates as he matures he should be a physical force. Good athlete around the rim, with lift and starting to look strong. Can hit threes as well from the corner. Name to track as he should have the opportunities for lots of reps to improve at Putnam City West.     Outstanding energy during 5 on 5. Flies around on defense, with hustling on transition defense. Plays helpside defense in the halfcourt and worked hard to close out on shooters. Complimented his hard working ways with solid perimeter shooting.     While still raw as a basketball player, the athleticism is starting to come in for the upside prospect. He's tall and physical, but is very mobile and agile for his size. Allowing him to cover guards, which could help him turn into an outstanding defender down the road. Shows off his athleticism with "grown man" type snagging of rebounds. The offensive skillset isn't quite there, but a locked in Underwood has the physical gifts to make an impact on the defensive end and rebounding. With plenty of upside to mature into an all around player.     Promising height and wingspan, combined with eagerness as a defender helped Flemming standout. Worked hard to defense into offense, and was another energy giver from the 2029 session. Need to see more, but checks early boxes to track.
