A major stock riser this summer, Miller seems to get more comfortable each time I watch him play and earned his first offer from Ohio University after strong weekends during the June live periods with defending OHSAA Division I state champion Olentangy Orange. Miller also had a big game against Vegas Elite in a Peach Jam qualifying game with multiple buckets against the top ranked center in the country. Expect Miller to continue to add to his offers if he plays how he did in June during the high school season.

Another [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] 16 U prospect with an offer from a MAC powerhouse, Creager was offered by Toledo in June following the contact period going live. Creager is one of the top shooters in Ohio and has the confidence to keep firing away and making shots even if he doesn't hit his first couple of a game. That type of mentality is so crucial for elite shooters because everybody will go through a slump, but Creager can shoot his way out of a slump in a hurry. Excited to see what Patrick Henry can show for an encore this winter after going 21-0 in the regular season last season with Creager leading the charge, this year he'll be without his older brother who is now playing football at Northwestern.

A point guard who flat out helps his team win during both the high school and grassroots season, James continues to impress me with his competitiveness, not backing down from any opposition. James was starting for a Toledo St John's program that competes against some of the best teams in Toledo and Detroit in the Detroit Catholic League. This got James prepared for what he saw as the [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] 16 U floor general as he helped them go unbeaten in EYCL play. Catch James at the Toledo Top 64 as he'll be competing against the top talent from across northwest Ohio in one of the most competitive events in the Fall across Ohio.

Making the move from Meigs back to his home school of Racine Southern, Brinager will be joining a team that went 9-1 in the TVC Hocking last season and could be one of the better teams in southeast Ohio next season. Brinager is a high motor wing who can be a primary scorer at the high school level or a high energy defender with his grassroots teams. Watching Brinager with both his high school and grassroots teams help you see different sides of his game and give a clear picture to the role he could play as a freshman as well as potential upside later in his college career.

Simpson had an excellent summer with Phenom United 16 U, one of the top teams on the 3SSB circuit. A lead guard who makes shots and defends is a valuable asset to have on your team and Simpson checks both of those boxes. With some big scoring games on the 3SSB circuit, Simpson proved he can produce Vs some of the top talent in his class. Excited to see how Simpson performs on a Lima Sr squad that has a lot of guard talent and will need to play tough and scrappy to make up for their lack of size. Simpson's strength and frame could be especially valuable because he can force turnovers and rebound.

You don't see many players playing up at the 17 U level who aren't rising seniors these days. Waters had an excellent summer for Ohio Champion Ua Rise 17 U as he showed off his toughness playing against older and more physically mature players. That experience could be valuable for Waters who will face double teams consistently with McNicholas this season. Waters led the GCL-Co Ed in scoring as a sophomore and should be comfortable learning a new offensive system as his new high school coach is also Ohio Champion's grassroots director Trey Scotti who he played for this summer. One of the top shooters in Ohio's 2027 class, Waters has expanded his game to be more than a specialist.

Another one of the elite shooters in Ohio's 2027 class, Reef has seen a sharp increase in his recruitment since the June contact period opened for 2027 prospects. Reef now holds offers to FAU, USC and Cleveland State. [program_tooltip program_id='2078667' first='TNBA' last='']-Ohio has an excellent 2027 group with numerous scholarship talents, I think they'll be a favorite among college coaches next summer with Reef as one of the more notable names. Reef will also continue to improve by getting pushed by the Division I talent at Western Reserve Academy next season, headlined by five star [player_tooltip player_id='1670105' first='Anthony' last='Thompson'].
