Comfortable handling the ball against pressure. Likes to put the defense on their heals and create into natural flow of offense. Gets out in transition and can burst into another speed quickly. In first game of day he went coast to coast after the outlet finding his way through traffic and converting. Impresses with the way he created space off the dribble and finding the open man for better shot selection opportunities. Followed up on a teammates missed shot on the break-a-way to give team second chance opportunity. Communicated defensively on ball screens to switch or help and then recover. Has a quick and shifty dribble to keep defenders on their heals. A couple times he really put on the burners to get down hill fast in transition to create offensive. Is comfortable handling against 1+ guys when drawing defenders into the action. Screened on the ball multiple times and consistently was moving off of it. Made a smooth cross back dribble to create space and splash home a 3. Not afraid to get on the floor for loose balls. Did so multiple time throughout the day. Offensively jab stepped hard and got to the rim to consume contact. Has a high rise on finishes. Utilized more dribble drive action using a pump fake and coming hard off a ball screen to draw defenders in and then kick out. Went full length solo to convert. Stays really low to the ground not letting offensive ball handler get by. Quick foot speed. Handled the point at times but effective in the combo guard setting as well. Walked into a 3 off the bounce smoothly. Cut really hard off an EOB play to retrieve it and score. Can certainly go off the bounce as well. Made his presence known in multiple phases. Smart IQ defensively. Slid over to help off man in the paint to contest and picked up full court at times. Got his hands in the passing lanes on passes to create turnovers which converted into offensive flow. Made hard takes off the bounce to consume contact and get to the stripe. Kicks it from inside out when necessary for better shots getting teammates involved. Liked his mobility off the ball offensively as well flashing quickly to open areas of the floor. Made multiple pitch ahead passes for transition opportunities and will make the extra swing pass in the half court setting. Catches and faces to see options on the pass. Screened on the ball multiple times and rolled to the basket. Defensively will help and recover on open guys to contest or make them put it on the floor. He'll naturally get quicker with 2 years left to go before college but his pace is certainly already there at the varsity level. In one sequence he challenged shooters shot to miss, d boarded, outletted quickly, and then trailed the ball at the top of the key to hit a 3 a couple feet bond the arc. Does a lot of textbook type of stuff. Screens and rolls consistently. Defensively used his length to pick off passes and contest shots in the paint. Bangs down low against same size and has the foot speed to effectively guard the perimeter.
