Our time in Rock Hill, South Carolina is coming to an end. After just a few games on Saturday we will head a couple of hours south to North Augusta, South Carolina for a week of basketball at the Peach Jam. However, before changing courses, let's dive into what we saw at the 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship on Saturday and highlight the top performers from the state of Indiana.

By his standards, Ertel didn't play very well in Indiana Elite 17u's semifinal loss to Game Elite on Saturday night. However, the future Purdue point guard still posted 12 points and 9 assists. Earlier in the day, in a quarterfinal win, Ertel put up 19 points, 10 rebonds, and 6 assists. The 6'1" left-handed guard really turned heads nationally at the 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship. Coach Matt Painter and the Boilermakers are getting one of the best guards in the country in the Class of 2026.

Midwest Basketball Club 17u played two games on Saturday and admittedly we didn't see much of either one. However, anytime we would check in on them and Charlestown High School rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='1922051' first='Anthony' last='Fresh'] it seemed like he was knocking in a three-point shot. On Saturday night, on the Arena floor against Lu Dort Elite 17u, Fresh buried the game-winning three-point shot from the left corner with just over three seconds to play. He has stepped up and played very well at the 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship. The 6'2" athletic guard looked the part of a Division I player.

Hammel turned in a second straight strong performance on Saturday morning for Phenom United 17u. The 6'3" guard from Kokomo High School really showed off his downhill quickness and explosiveness as a finisher at the end of his drives. With his combination of size and ability to touch the paint he really has upside as a true point guard at the next level. He flashed some of the vision and passing ability that it will take over the course of the last 48 hours. It will be interesting to see how his recruitment progresses as we get through the month of July.

Next up on the list of Indiana prospect who could, and probably should, earn a Division I offer is [player_tooltip player_id='2471408' first='Sherman' last='Moss-Wright']. The 6'3"-6'4" guard from Ben Davis High School checks a lot of boxes. He has all of the athletic and physical tools you could ask for on the perimeter while also being a versatile offensive threat. Defensively, Moss-Wright can guard multiple positions and consistently is disruptive. He had plenty of eyes on him in Rock Hill and it is just a matter of time now, in our opinion, until someone pulls the trigger.

If you are a mid-major school still waiting to decide on [player_tooltip player_id='1561617' first='Dikembe' last='Shaw'] you just need to go watch Indiana Elite 17u's semifinal game against Game Elite 17u from Saturday night. The 6'6" wing from Crown Point High School posted 23 points and 12 rebounds against one of the best defensive teams on the circuit. He makes defenders bounce off of him on the way to the basket and uses his size, strength, and length so well around the basket. Shaw is excellent at operating inside of the arc and is a great rebounder from the perimeter.

There are still a few games to be played on Sunday, but Shrewsberry ended his time in Rock Hill, South Carolina tied for ninth in scoring at 17u level averaging 22.8 points per game for Indiana Basketball Club 17u. Perhaps most impressively, the 6'4" rising senior guard from South Bend St. Joseph High School was able to put up those big scoring numbers while shooting "only" 17-51 from three-point range. Typically a near coin-flip shooter, Shrewsberry showed that he has really expanded his offensive game.

We've talked for over a year now about how Thomas is one of the best, most versatile defenders in the state of Indiana. He understands how to excel in his role, doesn't try to do too much, and is a plug-and-play type of guy with his size, athleticism, and defensive ability. On Saturday night, the rising senior at Mt. Vernon (Fortville) High School posted a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds showcasing what he can do on the offensive end of the floor for [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] 17u. His recruitment will be one to follow throughout July and into his senior season.

Weemer's offensive versatility has been on display throughout the week in Rock Hill for [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] 17u. We've seen the 6'5"-6'6" forward shoot it well from the perimeter while also showcasing what he can do as an interior scorer and rebounder. The rising senior at Hamilton Southeastern High School had all of that on display on Saturday evening as he posted a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds in a victory for Team Indiana.

If there was a player at the 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship who had a better week/weekend shooting the basketball than this rising junior point guard from Fishers High School we would like to see him. Zachary made 27 three-point shots in five games and averaged 20.2 points per game for Indiana Elite 16u. He made six three-point shots in both games he played on Saturday as his team finished the trip with a 4-1 record. Don't talk yourself out of recruiting one of the best, and toughest, basketball players in the state of Indiana.
