With the spring and summer high school and club basketball seasons firmly in the rearview, we dug deep into our evaluations of the 2027 class in Southern California and put a fresh update on our rankings. There was a lot of movement among the top 25 prospects and below we break down who made the biggest jumps.

[player_tooltip player_id='2646501' first='NaVorro' last='Bowman'] | Notre Dame | New No. 1

The 6-foot-2 point guard not only rose in our rankings from No. 5 to No. 1 but he also made a meteoric-type rise on the national stage which has supplanted him as one of the nation's best 2027 prospects. Bowman has all the makings of a high major point guard with his elite feel for the game, smooth and savvy scoring and creating chops to go along with his competitive nature and ability to take over games. The rising junior is an efficient three-level scorer who makes the difficult plays look easy.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436297' first='Davey' last='Harris'] | Windward | Old: No. 80, New: No. 5 | Pictured

Harris is finally healthy after battling various injuries over the last two seasons and he made a major splash with his high school and club teams, earning him a hefty jump from No. 80 into the top five. We originally slotted Harris low because we hadn't had the chance to see him play but knew that his physical and athletic tools would eventually draw him plenty of interest from four year schools. Once we got eyes on Harris, we knew he'd be making a major leap. The 6-foot-7 wing is not only an agile athlete but a skilled prospect who can score inside and out.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194692' first='Isaiah' last='Barnes'] | Crespi | Old: No. 19, New: No. 14

Barnes missed some time this summer due to a foot injury but what he did in the spring prior to the mishap is what earned him the five spot bump. The 6-foot-2 guard is a hard-nosed two-way prospect whose versatility and toughness on the defensive end is reminiscent of his father, longtime NBA player Matt Barnes. Offensively, Isaiah is best when attacking the rim and using his strength to power through contact and finish at the rim. Barnes also showed some improved feel as a primary ball handler and playmaker.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435390' first='Ender' last='Berg'] | Legacy Christian | Old: No. 30, New: No. 16

Berg started his high school career at Santa Ana Mater Dei but put himself on the recruiting radar - and received a 14-spot bump in the rankings - for what we saw him do this spring and summer with Legacy Christian. Berg is a skilled and high motor center who, at 6-feet-10, is highly mobile as a transition rim runner and agile when catching, gathering and finishing around the rim in one motion.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815162' first='Carson' last='Butler'] | Roosevelt | Old: No. 60, New: No. 21

There were rumblings last season about what Butler would become once he broke onto the varsity scene and those turned out to be true. The 6-foot-7 forward spent most of his sophomore year playing junior varsity at Eastvale Roosevelt due to their loaded roster but showed this spring and summer that he will be a major piece to the Mustangs' future. Butler is a mobile transition rim-runner and sure-handed finisher around the basket with an intriguing frame for a Division 1 four-man.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436269' first='Brandon' last='Granger'] | St. Bernard | Old: No. 33, New: No. 23

Granger is a small, but dynamic scoring guard who continuously produced at a high level throughout the spring and summer. The 5-foot-9 rising junior is a quick and shifty ball-handler who uses those tools to create off the bounce in isolation or when pushing the ball in transition. Granger's pull-up jump shot is one of his more lethal scoring options but he is also a crafty finisher around the rim despite his lack of size.
