About Davey
Expert Analysis
Anthony Fortuna | Prep Hoops Scout
It was my first time catching Davey Harris play at the Prep Hoops Bash in the Desert, and he no doubt entertained while also playing quality basketball. He put his vertical on full display and had one of the more memorable dunks of the weekend, throwing down a tough 360 with authority. He also leverages his height, wingspan, and quickness on defense to give his matchup problems. Overall, he’s an intriguing prospect who could boost his stock in the coming months if he continues making the right plays while producing both stats and highlights.

Showed good face-up ability, where he could catch, attack off the dribble, or rise into the mid-range; played with good pace and balance getting to his spots, with a polished fade that created separation when needed. Around the rim, he finished with power and ease, getting above the rim quickly and converting with force. Rebounded well and showed the ability to grab and go, pushing coast-to-coast in transition, while also showing the ability to stretch the floor with confidence from three.

An impressive wing athlete, Harris can play above the rim in transition and should provide early two-way value at the college level. Offers from schools like Boise State, UNLV, Loyola Marymount and UCSD show that some of the best mid-majors on the west coast have already made Harris a priority. With some big scoring explosions with Windward as a junior, Harris has established himself as one of the top high school players in Los Angelas.
