The KABC Summer Shootout was a great opportunity for Kentucky teams to play in front of Division I coaches during the live period and in this article I'll break down my standouts from the morning and early afternoon part of the day.

A strong downhill lefty driver, Woodfork wants to attack with the ball in his left hand and has a variety of ways he can finish with his dominant hand. A talented athlete and scorer, Woodfork showed off his ability to play in transition and thrive in an up-tempo game. One of the more talented guards in southwest Kentucky, Woodfork is a reliable 3-point shot away from being one of the toughest players in the state to defend.

Grayson County looked very impressive on Saturday as the duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1745592' first='Jack' last='Logsdon'] and Mardis were scoring the ball at a high level. Mardis certainly doesn't lack confidence and fired away early and often from long distance. While perimeter shooting was Mardis favorite way to score, he also attacked a couple closeouts finishing once with his right hand and once with his left hand while I was at his game. Talented scoring guard who could take Grayson County to the next level.

One of the more talented 2027 prospects in Kentucky, Gay is a switchable defender with the frame and athleticism to defend multiple positions. On the offensive end, Gay showed some polish with multiple impressive takes to the rim using crossovers, pivots and pump fakes to get open. Gay also scored off a BLOB and hit a couple perimeter jumpers as well. When George Rogers Clark was extending their lead, Gay capped the game off with a monster alley-oop slam dunk. Expect mid major programs to continue to closely monitor Gay during the July live periods.

Moeller has a ton of young talent that's just starting to scratch the surface of their talents and Trenz had some really bright flashes. A smooth mover for his size, Trenz showed the ability to get up and down the court, knock down perimeter shots and rebound the basketball. Defensively, Trentz used his length to protect the rim and defended well in space. Expect to hear a lot about Trenz over the next three seasons.

One of the top prospects in Kentucky regardless of class, White impressed for a Caverna squad that has a lot of talent. One of the elite shooters in Kentucky, White has the confidence and freedom to fire away from well beyond the 3-point line, loving top of key looks. White also had an athletic tip in and competed well on the defensive glass against a team with a lot of size and athleticism. Expect Division I schools to start showing a lot of interest in White as his shooting ability is sure to translate to the college level.

Craine was showing off his scoring ability at a high level with numerous contested pull-up jumpers, using his tough shot making ability to get buckets. College coaches certainly took notice of his talents as Georgetown College and Campbellsville both offered Craine today. I'll be focusing on Craine's defensive efforts the next time I catch him in action.

One of the more notable transfers in Ohio, Combs came from northern Kentucky powerhouse Cooper and adds even more length and athleticism for the Firebirds. I thought Combs had his best day of the summer with a ton of toughness plays with his rebounding, physicality and interior scoring. Combs also had one of the highlights of the day with a monster slam dunk in transition. With a ton of coaches watching his games, Combs certainly raised his stock with his play on Saturday.
