Here are my Friday Standouts from Riverside Brookfield Shootout.

[player_tooltip player_id='1845357' first='Noah' last='Mister'] Mount Carmel 2026

Noah started the game hot with a quick nine points. Two threes and a tough layup with a foul. After that a mix of scoring in the lane finding contact first then finishing plays. He has added strength and moves smaller guards out of his way. Noah has the luxury of being able to play in up-tempo and Mister had two very good performances of 26 and 30 points on Friday. Will have his share of schools watching.

Mason Lockett Oswego East 2026

I can say that Friday was one of the better days Lockett has had. He did it all scoring from all three levels. A smooth shot-maker and finisher around the basket. Defended, high-pointed rebounds, and had several blocks a few of them above the rim. Lockett also displayed a high IQ with his passing and ability to make the guys around him better. Lockett scored 30 and then 24 in the two games today.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874810' first='Jayden' last='Riley'] Yorkville Christian 2026

Slow start for Riley who got things going as he attacked the paint more in the second half. He's quick on the initial catch and can blow past guys who try to get reach-around steals. Jayden made a few shots on the baseline but was better at creating shots for others. One thing I liked about Jayden was how well he kept moving the ball to teammates even after they made mistakes. He is truly one of the most underrated passers in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2105396' first='Cameron' last='Mercer'] Riverside Brookfield 2026

Mercer was in control for most of the game. Shot it well off the dribble. Made some difficult layups in traffic and was fouled in the process. Cam plays hard and under control. He made aggressive defensive plays on the ball that led to multiple fastbreak plays. Scored 26 in the game I watched.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323283' first='Chris' last='Bolte'] St. Ignatius 2026

Chris was awesome in the matchup against Hersey. The big forward had his way at times in this matchup. Bolte started strong playing in the post scoring with ease on hard drop step moves. He also mixed in a couple of moves from the perimeter where he was fouled in the process. To finish things off he drained 5 threes leading all scorers with 27 points. What a day for Chris and we should expect movement in recruiting after a good day.

[player_tooltip player_id='2734366' first='Jayden' last='Williams'] Rich Township 2026

Williams had been playing well during the last two weekends. His ability to hit shots with consistency has stood out more than anything but it's also how well he scores when getting to the rim. Jayden has good upper-body strength as well as athleticism to make most plays look simple like when he split two defenders over the top of the trap and scored with a tear drop. That play alone showed how poised a player he is. He finished with 24 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552460' first='Bryce' last='Wegrzyn'] Libertyville 2026

Maybe I'm missing something but when a 6'8 post player scores 29 points and makes 5 threes you expect some schools to be checking their list. Regardless Bryce had a really good opening two games at R-B. He shot the ball well from three and showed good touch around the basket. For some who didn't see he had multiple dunks to show off his athleticism. Wegrzyn proved why he has risen to the top 5 of our rankings.

Quick Notes

[player_tooltip player_id='1552486' first='Danny' last='Houlihan'] New Trier 2026

Danny dropped 7 threes in a game. He was on fire and the Trevians kept finding him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2405910' first='Denym' last='Wallace'] New Trier 2029

Big incoming freshmen at 6'7 who proved that he can contribute right away on the varsity level. Can shoot and is physical in the paint. Good debut.

Gabe Sularski Lemont 2026

Sularski has been playing very well so far in June. Friday he went off for 26 points in the loss to Bolingbrook. He made 4 three-pointers while mixing in a couple of mid-range shots. He was at his best driving and finishing at the basket and often being fouled in the process.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125687' first='Travis' last='Brown'] West Aurora 2027

Brown is another player that I hope schools pay attention to more soon before we say we told you so. Slick ball handler who can score multiple ways. He dropped a guy with a simple in-and-out move going to the basket. Brown can pass and likes to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='2877539' first='Lester' last='Watson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2879381' first='Mekhi' last='Young'] Thornwood 2028

Both of these guard continue to go under the radar but they will become one of the better backcourts in the state real soon. Scoring guard who can pass and play very well off each other.

DK Heard and [player_tooltip player_id='2767906' first='Ronald' last='Johnson'] Mount Carmel 2029

Two impressive incoming freshmen who made contributions to the win over Yorkville Christian. Young prospects with varsity-level size and skill sets.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552408' first='TJ' last='Williams'] Bolingbrook 2026

I like what Williams brings to this Raiders team. A very dependable slashing guard who likes to get to the free-throw line. He excelled mostly in transition but is a weapon when given enough space to drive.
