Because he is a “GO” hard two-way guard that does a little bit of everything to help his team win. Can score and defend different positions and he does not need the ball to be effective. He is just scratching the surface of his game. Still don't think he gets a lot of play on a local level. Eric is a do all play all types of player that I play the game the right way. Defends, rebounds, and scored from all areas on the court. Has a great body and frame! Look for Erick stock to continue through the spring and summer. Controls the game from his unique vantage point with impressive creativity, flair, poise and instincts operating off a live dribble. Solid ball handler who plays at different speeds and can make every pass with either hand, especially operating out of pick-and-roll. Ability to knock down perimeter shots out to 21 feet and finish at the rim. He has size and a sound mechanics on his shooting stroke, especially from three-point range, while showing an understanding of how to rebound and contain his assignment defensively. Barrett also has a noticeably quick release on his shot and can get off clean looks with extraordinarily little space using the dribble to get to his spot. Barrett is a definite Division 1 prospect with high academic grades.
