The first live period of this year's grassroots season kicked off this past weekend and Under Armour Association's Session II had the attention of a laundry list of college coaches in Hamilton, OH. While some of New Jersey's best prospects continued to boost their stocks and see their recruitment pick up some steam, there were also a handful of some under the radar prospects that came out of the weekend with impressive performances and turned heads this weekend. In the second half of this article, let's dive into some guys that stood out over the course of this weekend's action.

Although still a little raw but still steadily improving, [player_tooltip player_id='2845829' first='Will' last='Meribe'] showed flashes of what makes him one of New Jersey's more intriguing under the radar prospects. Possessing a consistent and tremendously high motor, Meribe was extremely active on the offensive and defensive glass, crashing the boards and coming down with rebounds. Meribe also displayed his finishing ability and nice touch around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504902' first='Jamieson' last='Young'] had an impressive weekend that saw him showcase his versatility as a guy that can play and be effective at either guard spot. Young showcased his ability to be a strong ball handler and initiate offense all while also being effective off the ball and shooting the three ball at a high clip. Young was also effective in his ability to get in the paint and make plays. Consistently playing off two feet, not only did Young use his excellent court vision to spray out to open shooters and find open finishers around the basket but also showcased his ability to finish strong through contact.

A bright spot in We R1's 15U backcourt, [player_tooltip player_id='2194627' first='Tyree' last='Thorp'] shined in his ability to consistently attack the basket off the bounce. A true table setter on offense, Cooper generated open looks for his teammates in transition and in half court sets. Iduh showed improvements as a finisher around the basket— finishing over each shoulder, using both his left and right hand. Iduh was also extremely active on the glass. Iduh also impressed in the ways he was able to pass out the low post when defenses showed heavy help. Iduh also had good activity on the defensive end, showing flashes of switch ability, activity on the glass, as well as his ability to alter and block shots at the rim.

Sam Owusu-Adoumi had a strong weekend that showcased pretty much the entirety of his offensive skillset. Skilled with the ball in his hands, Owusu-Adoumi shot the ball from the perimeter at a respectable clip, particularly off the catch while also showing more flashes of his ability to create offense for himself off the bounce. Owusu-Adoumi also showcased an ability to find open guys when defenses showed help defense.
