I’ve written about Owusu-Aduomi quite a bit this spring, but it’s because he puts up big performances every time I watch him play. The 6-foot-5 wing handles some forward duties for BABC—he rebounds the ball well and is able to defend bigger and stronger players—but he also has guard skills and is effective with and without the ball in his hands. He can knock down shots from three, he can drive into the paint and finish athletically with both hands, and he has underrated passing vision and feel for his size. Owusu-Aduomi has been one of the spring’s biggest stockrisers and has elevated himself into the D1 scholarship conversation, something increasingly difficult for high school players to accomplish.

Like the jump Sam has made over the last 8 to 9 months as a prospect. He looked very comfortable scoring the ball in a plethora of ways. Owusu connected on several shots from behind the arc. He moves the ball and has a decent vision of the floor. Just like the versatility he brings with him throughout the game.

+17 (#43 to #26)
Owusu-Aduomi, a wing out of the Tilton School in New Hampshire, jumped 17 spots in this update and now sits at #26 overall in the rankings. The 6’5″ wing is a versatile scorer that impresses in the mid-range and with his ability to create his own shot in isolation situations. He’s an above the rim athlete and instinctive cutter that can finish in a variety of ways around the rim. Defensively, he can guard up and down a position and does a nice job of asserting himself on the defensive glass. He’ll play this spring and summer with BABC.

Owusu-Aduomi has been perhaps the region’s biggest stockriser over the past couple of weeks. The 6-foot-5 wing continues to show off polished parts of his offensive game, and he continued to do so this weekend against a talented Team Northeast UA Rise squad. He made a ton of shots from three (and I’m starting to really believe in his outside shot), but he also made many great moves to the rim and showcased his athleticism on a number of occasions. Owusu-Aduomi has some really solid passing chops, too, that I don’t think people talk about enough or realize he has in his game. He just keeps getting better.

Owusu-Aduomi was phenomenal this weekend for a BABC team that might not be as good as last year but will still have some very solid talent. The 6-foot-5 wing shot the ball extremely well from three in both games and looked comfortable as a driver and finisher at the rim as well. I’m quite high on his ability to pass the ball, too, which will shine with BABC more than it did with Tilton this past season. If he can continue to shoot the ball and score it from all three levels like he did against Team Sims on Saturday, he’ll have loads of scholarship schools reaching out to him in no time. Owusu-Aduomi is a strong candidate to be BABC 17u’s best player this spring.

Owusu-Aduomi was easily Tilton’s best player last night, and I was honestly shocked by how he’s improved over the last 6 months. When I first saw him play in AAU, the 6-foot-5 wing was basically just a scorer who was able to finish athletically at the rim and with contact. He still did lots of that yesterday, but I was incredibly impressed with his ability to make reads in the paint and excel as a passer; he has really good passing vision and the ability to make spray out and back-door passes consistently. He also made a bunch of outside shots and looks far more confident from out there. Owusu-Aduomi should be garnering scholarship looks and is SUPER intriguing.

Owusu-Aduomi, out of the Tilton School in New Hampshire, checks in at #11 among the small forwards and #44 overall. Owusu-Aduomi is a big time athlete that does a great job of making plays in space, on both ends of the floor. He covers ground quickly with long strides and uses his length to be disruptive in passing lanes, while also proving to be a strong rebounder in traffic. Offensively, he’s capable of getting into his mid-range game off one or two bounce, does a nice job of elevating into his shot, and also shows the ability to attack the rim for loud finishes when he can get downhill.

Owusu-Aduomi is the exact kind of guy who you want at the wing position. The 6-foot-5 wing is incredibly strong and can do whatever you want on either end. Offensively, he can score from all three levels but can also be a connective passer and cutter; he had some really nice closeout drives into the lane and is super crafty and athletic at the rim. Defensively, his size, strength and effort allows him to guard a variety of players one through five. Owusu-Aduomi is part of a revamped Tilton squad and should be a very key player for them this year. Once he gets a better feel for the game, he’ll be on the radar of scholarship coaches.

Owusu-Aduomi, a big and athletic guard, climbs into the rankings after transferring into the Tilton School. He debuts at #52 and should make an immediate impact in the NESCAC with his ability to make plays off the bounce. He’s a big, 6’5″ guard that has some real wiggle with the ball in his hands, shows plus athleticism, and is a crafty finisher in the paint. He does a nice job of playing at different speeds, keeping defenders off balance with jab steps, and even hits threes off the bounce. His physical gifts give him the ability to guard multiple positions, with a future as a high level defender.

Owusu-Adoumi is a smooth operating swing-man who does a really nice job getting to different spots in the mid-range. He showed flashes of scoring behind the arc. He is able to use his size as an advantage and can bully smaller defenders who try to guard him. He rarely gets sped up and has control off the game when the ball is in his hands. I would like to see him eventually get his release a tad faster. He is a prospect who tracks as a scholarship player. He could benefit from a reclass situation.
