Known for his exceptional perimeter shooting ability, Young is confident and efficient from three point range— excelling as a spot up shooter as well as a movement shooter. Allowing the gravity he attracts as an outside shooter to open up additional offense for him, Young also attacks the basket with poise off the bounce— finishing strong through contact and with craftiness and soft touch in traffic coupled with a smooth mid range pull up game. He finished well around the basket and in the mid-range when chased off the three-point line, showing patience and touch. A confident and efficient three-point shooter, Young is effective both off the catch and on the move. He also displayed excellent court vision, consistently finding open teammates in transition and in half-court sets when drawing multiple defenders.

Young made a living scoring the basketball in a plethora of ways. He has the ability to knock down shots from behind the three point line. Young does a great job getting pressure on the paint and navigating to rim off the dribble. I was really impressed by Young’s quickness in transition and can go coast to coast in the blink of an eye. He got to the foul line on more than several occasions. Another thing I like about Young is he does a great job turning the corner on the attack in the half-court and is able to break down the game on the fly. He also showed he could make tough passes and find his teammates for scoring chances. He is looking to build off a solid rookie campaign and is one of the best guards in the Garden State.
