This has been a must-stop for me the last two years and symbolizes the final event of the Spring Season for many teams. Take a look at some of the top 2028s from Saturday at the Phenom Memorial Day Classic:

Leading off my list of 2028s from the Phenom Memorial Day Classic is Hassan Lake. Lake and [program_tooltip program_id='2078753' first='Upward' last='Stars Columbia'] had a strong performance in Rock Hill, making it to the 15U Blue Bracket Championship Game. Hassan is an all-around playmaking guard with long arms and good instincts. He handles the ball well under pressure, drives the ball strongly, and finds teammates after paint touches. Lake put up 8 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals in a big round-one win.

Jenkins is another Westwood and [program_tooltip program_id='2078753' first='Upward' last='Stars Columbia'] Guard who impressed me this weekend. He is more scoring-minded and is capable of putting the ball in the basket at all three levels. Jahlil had 13 points in the matchup, converting on a right-wing three, a pair of mid-range jumpers, and some tough finishes at the rim. When he got into the paint, Jenkins displayed a good combination of skill with acrobatic finishes as well as fundamentals with his ability to play off two.

Next up on the list is [program_tooltip program_id='2412982' first='Upward' last='Stars Pee Dee']'s [player_tooltip player_id='2709018' first='Sinatra' last='Rembert']. I caught up with Rembert and the Stars in their tournament-opening loss to CSF Select, the eventual champions. Sinatra had a strong start to the game and his positional size stood out early. He is a big guard for his age and uses that advantage to finish at the rim, work the boards, and affect shots. Rembert has a very good crossover that set him up for good looks frequently.

Anton was a late add to [program_tooltip program_id='2078752' first='Upward' last='Stars 3SSB'] 15U so this was my first time seeing him with them in person. However, he looked right at home running the show from the Point Guard position. Daniels came off the bench and added 4 assists and 2 steals in a loss to Team CP3 EYCL, showing that he can make plays on both ends of the floor. Despite his size, Anton defends very hard with quick feet and strong hands, but also sees the floor well and is a crafty finisher.

Rounding out my list of 2028s from the Phenom Memorial Day Classic is [player_tooltip player_id='2470128' first='Jermier' last='Nelson']. Nelson was another bright spot despite the loss for the Stars, going for 15 points, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Of the 15 points, 7 of them came from the free-throw line, as he showcased a knack for finishing through contact or getting to the line when other shots aren't falling. Jermier also used his athleticism to make an impact on the defensive end of the floor.
