Anton is one of the top true Point Guards in the state, and the Trojans will bring him in to free up some of their other top prospects to be score-first. Daniels sees the floor very well and has a knack for getting others involved, so this addition should cement James Island as one of Charleston’s elite teams this season.

Daniels displayed just why he is at the top of that conversation in the first half of Atlantic Collegiate’s matchup with Fox Creek, as he put up 6 assists with 0 turnovers. He made all the passes needed to get his teammates into the flow of the game – finding shooters, working the pick-and-roll, and getting the ball to his bigs in the paint. Anton was more of a scorer in the second half, finishing with 11 points with a couple of nice finishes at the rim and a mid-range pull-up.

Anton was a late add to Upward Stars SE 15U so this was my first time seeing him with them in person. However, he looked right at home running the show from the Point Guard position. Daniels came off the bench and added 4 assists and 2 steals in a loss to Team CP3 EYCL, showing that he can make plays on both ends of the floor. Despite his size, Anton defends very hard with quick feet and strong hands, but also sees the floor well and is a crafty finisher.

He was the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Starting One when I caught them in Columbia in November and displayed efficient shooting, defensive pressure, craftiness in the lane, and a good handle. As of January 16th, Daniels is averaging 8.4 Points Per Game and 2.5 Assists Per Game and looks to be a top prospect to watch in the Lower State for the future.

Daniels is a new name here in the Palmetto State. Anton played last season in Connecticut before moving down to the Grand Strand. Anton plays the game with some savvy already for his age. He was able to make some simple plays here today while getting his teammates involved along the way.
