I got to see Jermier and Team CP3 matchup with Garner Road on Saturday, and his play was another positive coming out of the game. He scored 8 points in less than 10 first-half minutes, coming in off the bench with a tough mid-range pull-up, a leak-out transition lay, and a pair of perfect trips to the free-throw line. The latter has always been something that Nelson does well, but he’s become much more confident and capable as a scorer after a breakout sophomore season in Fort Mill. Although there are flashes of it, the next step for Jermier is making his teammates better more consistently. It’s not something he will always be asked to do for this talented CP3 squad, but when he gets back to high school ball and eventually college ball, it is the difference between him being a good player and a great player.

When it comes to breakout season, Jermier’s 2025-26 season is up there with the biggest of them. He had a remarkable sophomore year, going for 20 points and almost 3 steals a night against some of the best competition in the state. Along with this spot on the 5A All-State Team, Nelson was also named Region 3-5A Player of the Year and received his first offer from East Carolina.

. In my opinion, the Yellow Jackets were the most impressive team at the Gregg Nibert Camp of Champs. Jermier impacted winning through his ability to efficiently run the offense from his PG position. Nelson had 0 turnovers and shot 6-8 from the field in a comfortable win over Orange (NC). He showcased his ability to consistently touch the paint, pull up in the mid-range or from behind the arc, and force the issue on the defensive end.

. Nelson was another bright spot despite the loss for the Stars, going for 15 points, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Of the 15 points, 7 of them came from the free-throw line, as he showcased a knack for finishing through contact or getting to the line when other shots aren’t falling. Jermier also used his athleticism to make an impact on the defensive end of the floor.

. Nelson is a product of the nearby Fort Mill High School, and he had a monster showing in Upward’s win over
Team CP3
EYBL. He put up 23 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals, showing the balance in his game at the Point Guard position. Jermier has a crafty handle that helps him get into the paint, and once he does, he is strong and creative in finishing at the rim.
Team CP3
has elite size and terrific rim protection, so scoring in the paint was a challenge, but Nelson made it look easy for himself and helped set up teammates well with dump-off passes.
