Expert Analysis
Victor Taylor | Prep Hoops Scout
Melville was a guy for CC Elite that I thought oozed upside and potential, while having another good day today. He wasn’t the most skillful with the ball in his hands or the best shooter, but you can see how athletic his frame is and how much a bit of growth and maturation will do for him as time goes on. He’s like a baby deer still figuring out how everything moves, but there’s a ton of potential locked up in his frame. Played hard, finished solidly at the rim, and worked hard on both ends on the glass.

Melville was electric for Team 3 as a wing-forward who could knock down shots on the perimeter at volume. He was an efficient shooting presence who didn’t hesitate to show that he could score on the perimeter, both off the bounce and off the catch on offense. Defensively, he used his length to alter shots, rebound the ball and be a presence in the painted area as well. He’s a prospect to keep eyes on in the 2027 class out of Covenant Day School.

Melville is another intriguing 2027 prospect with size to keep an eye on as he begins his high school career at Covenant Day School. He was a pivotal piece this past season on the UA scene with Team Curry this past season. He’s got a good feel in the painted area and high post with his ability to shoot and handle the ball. He’s a versatile presence that should impress with what he can do on the hardwood at this year’s showcase.
