Melville was electric for Team 3 as a wing-forward who could knock down shots on the perimeter at volume. He was an efficient shooting presence who didn’t hesitate to show that he could score on the perimeter, both off the bounce and off the catch on offense. Defensively, he used his length to alter shots, rebound the ball and be a presence in the painted area as well. He’s a prospect to keep eyes on in the 2027 class out of Covenant Day School.
Highlights
Hamlet was a gamechanger on the floor for Team 3 with his relentless presence as an attacker and defender on the hardwood. He did well to show off his impact as a defender, forcing turnovers and getting out with ease on the break to finish at the rim. He showed off his athleticism to maneuver through the defense and finish in traffic on numerous occasions. He didn’t back down from any challenges that came his way all day long. As he shows off his all-around game, look for his name to grow in SC’s 2027 class at Gray Collegiate Academy.
Wylie was another gamechanger in the Team 3 fold who fared well on the hardwood alongside Malachi Hamlet Malachi Hamlet 6’1″ | CG Gray Collegiate | 2027 SC as a frontcourt combination. He fed off Hamlet’s energy well and did well to move without the ball in spots to find openings for easy scores. He showed he could get downhill just as well and finished with authority at the rim on a few different occasions. He’s got good upside as another wing prospect in the 2027 class to keep eyes on over at Ridge View High in South Carolina.
Highlights
Sancho was a tough competitor who came out the gates swinging every game with his play. He opened the showcase for Team 3 in Game 2 by scoring the team’s first nine points before the opposing team could respond. He’s a big guard prospect who utilizes all of his frame to get to his spots on the floor. He’s actually a tremendous shooter on the perimeter who showcased he could also get others involved and bring the energy on the floor. Really looking forward to tracking him at Cannon School over the next few years.
Jayden Griffin Jayden Griffin 5’9″ | PG Carmel Christian | 2027 NC was one of the more impressive floor generals at the Carolinas Freshman Showcase. He did a tremendous job of gathering his troops and keeping them in line as Team 3 went 4-1 on the day falling in their final game of the day. He’s a solid pace-setter who knows when to push the ball and find others in the open court for easy scores. He was even more impressive with his ability to finish in traffic and not be thrown off by contact. He’s a name to get to know over at Carmel Christian School in NC’s 2027 class.

Tyren Mcmillian
Mcmillian is a guard to keep an eye on in SC’s 2027 class given his knack for handling the ball and defending with pressure. He showed he could handle the ball and take some of the pressure off Griffin with his ability to attack off the bounce. As he continues to develop in the backcourt, he’ll be a name to track out of SC’s 2027 class at Sumter High.
Jayden Rowe
Jayden Rowe
Rowe was a model of versatility on the floor for Team 3. He utilized his length well to space the floor with his ability to knock down shots off the catch and attack the paint off the bounce. He showed confidence getting to the painted area and finishing through traffic while still maintaining an effectiveness as a distributor and defender. As he learns to utilize his length defensively and fly around to make plays, look for his stock to grow in SC’s 2027 class out of Gray Collegiate Academy.
Veasey was a burden to bear in the painted area with his play. He brought a physical brand of basketball to the fold that his teammates didn’t hesitate to follow as he battled on the boards and down low to get buckets in traffic. He knew how to draw contact and finish with And1’s and played strong for Team 3 as an anchor down low. He’s a name out of Blythewood High in SC to get eyes on.

Zimmerman was another impressive face in the Team 3 backcourt as he complemented Jayden Griffin Jayden Griffin 5’9″ | PG Carmel Christian | 2027 NC very well at the other guard role. He showed he could find others in space to make easy buckets in the paint and he showed when given opportunities, he could get hot in a hurry from deep. Defensively, he was fearless in holding his own and applying pressure on the ball, regardless of who was in front of him. He’s a name who should grow in SC’s 2027 class out of Atlantic Collegiate Academy.

Jalen Cave
Cave was a presence on the perimeter for Team 3 with a knack for knocking down shots in space and off the bounce. He showed he could space the floor when his feet were set to knock down open shots. He got downhill and showed he could make good things happen when the ball came his way at the off-guard spot. He’s a prospect out of Grovetown High in GA to track in the 2027 class.
