About Malachi
Expert Analysis
Andrew Baxley | Prep Hoops Scout
Malachi posted his highlights from the Puma NXT Event in Florida last July where he averaged 16 PPG and 7 PPG playing up in the 16U Division. A lot of Hamlet’s scoring came in and around the paint. He plays at a slower, more deliberate pace but is comfortable even when pressured. Malachi’s athleticism, footwork, creativity, and ability to finish with either hand were all key to his impressive scoring reel. Hamlet is also a strong shot blocker for a young guard, averaging 2 BPG in the event. His release is on the slower side and can cause his jump shots to be defended tougher than usual.

Hamlet was a gamechanger on the floor for Team 3 with his relentless presence as an attacker and defender on the hardwood. He did well to show off his impact as a defender, forcing turnovers and getting out with ease on the break to finish at the rim. He showed off his athleticism to maneuver through the defense and finish in traffic on numerous occasions. He didn’t back down from any challenges that came his way all day long. As he shows off his all-around game, look for his name to grow in SC’s 2027 class at Gray Collegiate Academy.
