Sancho is a big guard prospect with a bright future ahead of him in the Cannon School rotation. He’s an underrated name to get to know in the state of North Carolina given his ability to operate at either guard role and score the ball with consistency. He spent time on JV this past season where he got time to prove himself and with a new regime in place under head coach Jim Baker.

Sancho is a name known to us due to his participation in the PH Freshman Showcase, but developed a lot over the winter and spring. He made a splash playing up two age divisions in Phenom events in May, and was rewarded with an addition to NY Rens’ 15U EYBL group for the Session 4 of EYBL. He’s gotten much better from deep, showing he can get hot around the perimeter. However, I still like his physicality and play around the rim, where he uses a developed frame and deceptive strength to bully people inside the arc. With a lot of room to grow, expect Sancho to have a role with Cannon School by the time November comes around.

Sancho was a tough competitor who came out the gates swinging every game with his play. He opened the showcase for Team 3 in Game 2 by scoring the team’s first nine points before the opposing team could respond. He’s a big guard prospect who utilizes all of his frame to get to his spots on the floor. He’s actually a tremendous shooter on the perimeter who showcased he could also get others involved and bring the energy on the floor. Really looking forward to tracking him at Cannon School over the next few years.

Matthew is a tough, physical guard, with a good frame who loves to attack the basket off the dribble and does it well. He is difficult to keep in front when he turns the corner for most players his age and displayed the ability to hit outside shots when needed. Got a lot of easy baskets from running the floor and cutting to the rim. Cannon will have another prospect to watch in the future.

Sancho is a big guard prospect that’s set to get things started this season in the NCISAA ranks with Cannon School. He’s got a solid feel for the ball as a quick change of pace and does well to maneuver through defenses with his frame. He’s a guard that looks to put constant pressure on opponents with his ability to attack off the bounce. He’ll be a name that should turn heads given his prowess on the grassroots scene this past cycle.
