2028 Guards That Can Get Downhill In a Hurry

If he plays well this next month, he may see his name move up in the ranks. He uses deceptive maneuvers to pull his defenders out of place, and from there he gets downhill or he'll look to get a jump shot off. Troya also plays to win, and you'll notice that he's a tough competitor on defense. For those looking to catch him play, he is currently playing for team Still I Rise.     [player_tooltip player_id='2819169' first='Keyone' last='Wilkerson'] is a bit of a sleeper in the class of 2028, but he has a ton of skill and athleticism for a point guard. He can accelerate in the blink of an eye and not many defenders can keep up with him when he really punches it. Speaking of punching it, the 5'9 guard is also a high flyer and is capable of throwing down a dunk if he gets out in transition. On the other end of the court, Wilkerson poses problems for the man he's guarding with his active hands and lateral quickness.     Darius McGee has a motor on him, and he doesn't take possessions off on defense. Although he stays with his assignment, he is also often hunting steals. If he collects one around mid-court, he is capable of taking it the rest of the way for an easy lay-up. In addition to his skills on defense, McGee looks to score on offense by burning is man or by shooting from the outside.       [player_tooltip player_id='2619431' first='Timothy' last='Mixon'] is a certified bucket getter. The lefty has a way of slipping by his defender and often makes difficult shots around the rim. Mixon is also a shooter and can light it up from downtown. As a defender, Mixon looks to frustrate his opponents by applying ball pressure. He is another potential stock riser in the upcoming rankings release (which will be in June).     [player_tooltip player_id='2450001' first='Walter' last='Townsend'] is more of a threat than his defenders anticipate and he can blow by them if they play him too far out. Townsend also wisely dishes it off if his opponents close in on him or he can use his floater to shoot over taller players. In addition to his offensive skillset, Townsend is a sneaky defender and looks to poke the ball away when his opponents least expect it.     Noah Darden is very light on his feet, which allows him to fly all over the court and make plays. He has a knack for creating turnovers and he is also the type of a player who can turn defense into offense. Darden also has some blazing speed and looks to get to the cup if there's an opportunity. Look for him in a Knicks uniform this spring/summer, as he is playing with their 15U team.
