I spent this past weekend at the Phhacility for the Bash in the Desert, scouting a deep pool of talent from both the EYBL and local AAU circuits. The level of competition was elite across the board. To give every standout player the coverage they deserve, I've broken my recaps into three parts: a two-part deep dive into the EYBL prospects and a dedicated feature on the standout performers from the independent and local programs.

The left-handed guard continues to demonstrate his elite potential. His developing jump shot significantly increases his offensive threat. Possessing a quick first step, he exhibits the athleticism to finish effectively at the rim. His defensive anticipation is equally impressive, resulting in numerous steals and blocks throughout the tournament. Jacobi is well-positioned to excel on the E15s and gain national recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2477281' first='DJ' last='Hunter'] Somerset Losee (Vegas Elite 15U EYBL):

The dynamic point guard serves as the primary catalyst for this Vegas Elite 15u squad. He demonstrates exceptional floor leadership, consistently making high-level decisions with the basketball. His offensive repertoire includes an elite pull-up three-pointer in transition and the ability to drive aggressively to the basket. Defensively, his tenacity creates significant pressure on opposing backcourts. DJ is a promising prospect who projects continued development.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249943' first='Lleyton' last='Leonard'] Basha (Oakland Soldiers 16U EYBL):

Lleyton's dominance was fully evident throughout the weekend. He consistently attacked the rim with purpose and converted numerous lob opportunities from his teammates. Furthermore, he effectively stretched the floor by hitting perimeter shots from beyond the arc. His defensive tenacity further distinguished his performance. Lleyton is poised for continued growth and will be a key player to monitor in the E16 division this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276223' first='Kingston' last='Montague'] Basha (Oakland Soldiers 16U EYBL):

The scoring guard has demonstrated significant growth in his game. His quick release makes him an exceptionally difficult assignment for defenders. Additionally, Kingston exhibits excellent off-ball movement. He competes with fight on defense, frequently converting turnovers into transition scoring opportunities. His trajectory suggests continued improvement throughout the summer circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='2758274' first='Mateen' last='Cleaves Jr'] Dream City Christian (Oakland Soldiers 16U EYBL):

Mateen consistently showcases refined backcourt skills, and his 6'4" frame presents a significant challenge for opposing defenders. During Saturday's matchup, he effectively facilitated the offense, consistently finding open teammates and making accurate reads. In addition to his playmaking, he demonstrated his range by converting several three-point attempts. Mateen is going to be a notable national stock-riser this summer as he continues to dominate on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386978' first='Jaydon' last='Hayes'] Willow Canyon (Oakland Soldiers 16U EYBL):

This physical guard continues to exhibit significant development. Utilizing his strong frame, he presents a mismatch for most guards. He demonstrates the ability to finish powerfully at the rim while also possessing the skill to beat opponents off the dribble. Furthermore, he is an effective rebounder for his position and will be a vital asset for the Oakland Soldiers 16U EYBL team.
