We have gotten through Memorial Day and are ramping up to the start of "summer ball" in the coming days. AAU season is more than halfway over and July will be here before you know it. It's time to update our rankings, starting with the class of 2026. These rising Seniors have seen a lot of movement over the years and have had a few players transfer out of state. Here's a look at the highest ranked shooting guards in this update. This does not include players who were covered in the Top Ten Article or any of the other breakdowns we have already published.

An explosive scorer that was one of the leading scorers in the entire state last season, Tylin is a high potential player who keeps getting better. Wired to get buckets, George is working on becoming a well rounded player who can facilitate as well as he creates his own offense. He is also likely to dunk on someone if given the opportunity. Tylin announced a reclass to 2027 via a post graduate year so he plans to graduate from UHA then attend a prep school for an additional year.

One of the most explosive leapers in the state, James Jr. would make the yearbook for "most athletic" in any school in Kentucky. Eric had a really big season for Green County and is working to improve his all around scoring so he's not primarily a driver who lives in the paint. After shooting 32% from three as a Junior, James is becoming a very tough cover for any defender as they can no longer sit on his left hand and make him drive. Keep your eyes on Eric for a potential breakout Summer.

A bigger wing who relies on IQ and shot making more than raw athleticism, Jackson had a really strong season for Henry Clay and has continued his momentum into the AAU season. Stephan is a good shooter who has been forced to put his team on his back at times in his high school career. Expect Jackson to be the leader and go to scorer for a Blue Devil roster that just graduated 8 Seniors. I'm interested to see if he plays some more point guard this summer for Henry Clay.

Bray has been a bigger part of the Lyons offense since he arrived on the scene and this past season he played with the ball in his hands a lot. At the college level, Kirk may even be looked at more as a point guard than a shooting guard but he is capable of playing both. With good size and a strong build that can absorb contact on the way to the rim, Kirk is going to be in the mix for player of the year in the region and should be on the "big board" for every D2/NAIA school in the state and surrounding areas to see this summer.

Mardis is one of the first big transfers of the summer as he is headed from LaRue County to Grayson County. For LaRue, Jagger was arguably the most important piece of the roster as he averaged 16 points per game with impressive shooting splits of 51/43/81. Not just a shooter anymore, Mardis has developed his game to be a true three level scorer and his addition to the Grayson County roster makes them a big time contender to get to Rupp Arena.
