Expert Analysis

James impacted the game in a variety of ways. He did a nice job scoring on the attack and finishing around the basket on the interior, leading his team with 18 points. While he did connect on a three-pointer, he still seems a bit conservative from deep and could benefit from being more aggressive from beyond the arc. James was in good spots on the floor to rebound. I also liked how he found teammates for scoring opportunities and kept the ball moving instead of letting it stick in his hands.

Perhaps the most explosive athlete in Kentucky, James was an immediate impact transfer last season and is a big time player with multiple scholarship offers right now. Green County is going to be a tough cover and Eric is a big reason why. An electric downhill driver, James can heat up in a hurry.

James showed his ability to score the basketball in a plethora of ways. He navigates his way to the bucket and lives in the paint. He showed that he could score from three. James also is becoming better as a playmaker for others and found his teammates for scoring chances of their own. He plays with a great deal of energy when he steps onto the floor.

is one of the most explosive athletes in Kentucky, a physical guard who excels at playing downhill and finishing through contact. A violent leaper and highlight dunker, he constantly pressures defenses by attacking the paint, drawing fouls, and creating opportunities for his team. After shooting 32% from three as a junior, he clearly worked to expand his perimeter game, making him a more complete scorer and tougher cover for defenders. With his size, strength, and athleticism, James brings impact on both ends of the floor and projects as a strong two-way guard at the next level.

James is a physical downhill thumping guard who was able to bully his way to different spots off the bounce. He score effortlessly throughout the camp and defenses had no answers for him. James made a few trips to the charity stripe. He also showed that he could score from three but think that is an area of his game he could improve on which would make his transition to college a bit smoother.

One of the most explosive leapers in the state, James Jr. would make the yearbook for “most athletic” in any school in Kentucky. Eric had a really big season for Green County and is working to improve his all around scoring so he’s not primarily a driver who lives in the paint. After shooting 32% from three as a Junior, James is becoming a very tough cover for any defender as they can no longer sit on his left hand and make him drive. Keep your eyes on Eric for a potential breakout Summer.

James Jr. had a strong showing for the weekend, including 18 points against The Family EYBL. Eric is at his best when he’s attacking the rim and he’s a violent dunker, even in traffic. When I was able to catch Eric on Sunday, he shot the ball very well from the perimeter as his Moss Elite team was trying to come back. A good weekend for the Green County guard.

One of the marquee transfers coming to Green County in the 2026 class, James Jr stood out as maybe the top overall performer of the day. New to Kentucky, James Jr looks to be fitting in well with his new team and had a dominant effort on Saturday. A very impressive athlete, James Jr can finish above the rim with powerful finishes or can hang in the air to avoid a rim contest. Combine that with his solid shooting stroke that saw him knockdown a couple of 3-pointers and James Jr is a really tough guard to stop from scoring the basketball. You’ll be hearing a lot about Green County this winter and expect James Jr to be high in the 2026 rankings when they get updated next.
