Windy City War: Mismatch Bigs

Prep Hoops Illinois scouts were in attendance this past weekend at the Windy City War which was hosted in the Chicago Land area. Plenty of 4 and 5 men show cased their skill levels at the event. Let's take a look at over a half of dozen bigs that made an impact down low.    A good sized frame that has solid upside potential moving forward. Caught team's first game of the tournament and had a nice start from the tip. Made a hard cut for a back door lay in that gave team a spark. Team runs a lot of action away from the ball and he fits well into that phase of 1/2 court sets. Mobile screening away from where the main action is taking place. Gets guys open. Had a cool pin down screen and then rescreened again for his point for an open pop-out 3 for a screen assist. Posted up fairly well and was active on missed shots around the glass.     Have him on the bigs list but really plays more of a 3 man role within the teams make-up. Can be a stretch 4 at the next level and has that size to play the position. Is pretty long and uses that length to his advantage. Runs the floor at a good rate with long strides. Liked to get up and down. Cuts hard without the ball. Was impressed mostly with his ability in the game I saw to crash the glass on the offensive end. Converted off a couple put backs off misses where he rebounds it really high. Showed transparency to be aggressive.     Would fit the script as being both a rim runner as well as a rim rattler. A long athletic sized 4 man that gets down the floor in a hurry and plays with aggression. Hard nosed and has the size and athleticism that accompanies his game well. Rebounds it at a high point off misses. Stayed active around the glass for boards and is able to take it coast to coast with his dribbling capabilities. Saw team's first game of the day and had 2 tomahawk dunks within minutes of each other and another one in the 2nd half. Converted on a mid range 10 foot basket as well.     A high leaper with plenty of length. Made it a challenge for defense to contain in the paint on multiple avenues of the game. Bangs against other same sized bigs with physicality and battles hard. Offensively had solid takes to the rim off the dribble a handful of times from the wing spot to the middle of the lane or on the baseline. With his length can really finish high off the glass. Made a sweet up and under And 1 finish. Remained active on misses for a couple O boards to continue to give team a spark.     Caught team's last game of the tournament on Sunday morning. Started off the game with quite a bit of activity around the main plays of the ball. Maintained good verticality in the paint for a couple of clean blocks to force turnovers. With his length was able to make a few rebounds catching the ball at its' highest point and had good timing doing so. Screened away from the ball in the 1/2 court set. Got it out quick off of misses to make quick hard outlets to his guards for a couple transition buckets.     A stretch 4 man that moves feet well underneath. Caught it at the high post or on the block a couple of times for spin moves on the dribble and scores. Ran in transition for a dish off and another lay-in. Was active on the glass for put backs off misses. Made the game winning bucket lay in with seconds left to seal team's win on last game of the day. Helped team to a 3-1 finish on the weekend.     Good sized frame with mobility as a stretch 4 or 5 man. Played on teams' 17U through the weekend. Runs the floor at a good rate and has a consistent presence around the rim. Plays off 2 feet. Had an O board lay-in off a miss. Ran in transition for a dish off pass and finish. Made a cool flash at the elbow and converted in the lane from 6 feet.
