Scott Hankamp | Prep Hoops Scout
– Signed with Northern Michigan University
Johnson is a very intriguing addition to the Northern Michigan program. It could be argued that he has one of the highest upsides in the state. Johnson has incredibly unique positional size and ball skills. He’ll be a great add both on and off the court.

I think that it’s safe to say that Johnson is underrated. He just has a ton of upside with his positional size and strength. He has some versatility that could allow him to play multiple positions or roles at the next level. Johnson can bang down low if needed, but he can face the rim and make shots with ease.

Have him on the bigs list but really plays more of a 3 man role within the teams make-up. Can be a stretch 4 at the next level and has that size to play the position. Is pretty long and uses that length to his advantage. Runs the floor at a good rate with long strides. Liked to get up and down. Cuts hard without the ball. Was impressed mostly with his ability in the game I saw to crash the glass on the offensive end. Converted off a couple put backs off misses where he rebounds it really high. Showed transparency to be aggressive.

Johnson is definitely a threat to slam the ball home. As a tall and long forward with athleticism to match, if he has an opening to the rim, watch out. Johnson can throw down with 1 or 2 hands and is a definite open floor threat.

I’ve already singled out Johnson and his potential for a big season before, but let’s drive the point home. Johnson has positional size, and a skill set to go with it, that just doesn’t happen every day. The consistent development of his jumper and ball skills could put him in line for an impressive season.

is a player that will have a lot of scout and coaches eyes on his game this high school season. His positional height and ball skills are way more than intriguing. Johnson looks like he’s added muscle which will make all the more of a matchup nightmare in the coming months.

Johnson is an intriguing prospect that holds a ton of upside. He turned some heads last year at The Expo and could make a huge statement this year. He’s a diverse offensive attacker with the ability to score in a variety of ways. Johnson can shoot off the catch from deep, but can also put his back to the basket and work over his right shoulder.
