Willie is not only an entertaining player to watch with his flashy playstyle, but he finds ways to turn that flair into production. In a back-and-forth game with Powerhouse MN, 1 Dream wanted the ball in Willie's hands because they knew he could go and make a play. Defender struggled to stay in front of him with his shifty handle, and he was able to get into the lane consistently down the stretch. From there he showed the ability to finish acrobatically at the rim, or dump it off to a teammate for an easy bucket. Came up with a handful of clutch plays in the win.

The way Cullen plays reminds me a bit of Jack Campion a few years back. He's so shifty and has a lightning quick first step with the ball in his hands. Though often the smallest guy on the floor, Cullen was absolutely fearless attacking the basket for Coulee United, and showed impressive body control to just hang in the air and finish in a number of ways. Had an impressive behind the back pass late in the game as well leading to an easy look at the rim. Cullen is one of those players who seems to have an endless supply of energy, and it showed in his effort on both ends of the floor.

Covering Minnesota and Wisconsin schools during the winter, I don't always get to see a lot of Illinois prospects, but their 2028 guards certainly impressed this weekend. Amir was one of the promising freshmen who stood out, putting in a gutsy performance playing up against [program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] 16u. He played with a level of poise and pace you don't often see from a freshman, able to manuever his way past quicker defenders to get to dangerous spots. He can hit the open three, finish against taller defenders, and has the vision to set up his teammates. Standing at 6', he has a long and lanky frame that he doesn't appear to be finished growing in to.

Ryan came up big was AIA Wisconsin on Sunday morning. In the second half he was coming up with some clutch shots, and ended up hitting a three with less than ten seconds remaining to give his team the win. Ryan is a pure shooter, and is a threat to pull up from three off the catch or dribble. Does a nice job of mixing in shot fakes to send defenders flying by, and creating off the dribble from there. Ryan shot over 42% from three during his sophomore season, while growing over three inches since his freshman year, as he continues to fill out his long frame.

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2441755' first='Caleb' last='Harris'] has a strong frame for a guard at 6'3, and showcased a bit of flair with his ability to score in isolation for Splash Athletics. Harris could break his man down off the dribble and then attack the basket for an easy two points. Combination of strength, explosiveness, and body control made him difficult to stop once he got to the rim. Also got out in transition for a powerful dunk that left the hoop shaking in the second half.

Elijah King was one of the best pure scorers at the event. When he wanted to go get a bucket, he was putting the ball in the hoop almost every time. He has such a strong frame as a guard, and at the 16u level he could pretty much just bully his way to the basket against opposing guards. Try to defend him with size, and he was still quick enough to blow by his man. Flashed a smooth jumper from beyond the arc as well, helping lead his [program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] 16u team to a win playing up at the 17u level on Sunday.

Matthew is another player who was hitting clutch shots for AIA Wisconsin on Sunday morning. It was a back and forth game for most of the second half, and Matthew hit two threes in quick succession to push his team ahead with minutes to play. Pure shooter who was connecting from beyond the arc consistently in the two games I watched over the weekend. Had games of 29 and 30 points this past winter for Kenosha Christian Life, hitting a combined 16 threes across those two games.
