Class 2A Player of the Year: 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1436462' first='Kaden' last='Van Regenmorter'] (Western Christian)
Stats: 19.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.0 steals, 49.8 FG%, 42.4 3P%, 80.8 FT%

Van Regenmorter's numbers may not be as eye-popping as several of the others in the class, but the Wolfpack also played against a much more difficult schedule than any of the other teams in the class did, constantly playing talented out-of-state teams from bigger classes. A 6-4/6-5 wing with complete command of the game on both ends of the floor, he was the headliner for the team that won their second straight state title.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1381425' first='Mason' last='Watkins'] (West Burlington)
Stats: 30.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.5 steals, 54.4 FG%, 40.0 3P%, 78.0 FT%

The future North Florida guard was electric in his senior year for the Falcons, putting up ridiculous numbers with tremendous efficiency. He's an extremely skilled three-level scorer, playmaker, and defender with a pure stroke off both the dribble and the catch.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1951832' first='Cael' last='Reichter'] (North Fayette Valley)
Stats: 29.4 points, 15.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.5 steals, 1.4 blocks, 61.5 FG%, 44.3 3P%, 73.0 FT%

The future Upper Iowa big man was ridiculously good for the TigerHawks in his senior season, nearly leading them to the state tournament. He was an unstoppable force all year long, scoring around the bucket, dominating the glass, getting his teammates involved, and showing the ability to step out and stretch the floor.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1759936' first='Carson' last='Hoogeveen'] (West Lyon)
Stats: 17.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.1 steals, 50.2 FG%, 45.8 3P%, 78.6 FT%

Arguably the best pure guard in the class, Hoogeveen nearly led the Wildcats to the state title as a senior. He's an elite shooter off the dribble with unlimited range, sees the floor extremely well, and is a top-tier defender. He had a great year on both ends of the floor.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1381402' first='Emiliano' last='Barrantes'] (Grand View Christian)
Stats: 21.0 points, 14.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 4.2 blocks, 62.2 FG%, 75.3 FT%

The future Illinois-Chicago big man was once again fantastic on both ends of the floor for the Thunder, serving as one of the best rim protectors in the state. With his combination of size, length, and athleticism, he made it nearly impossible to score against GVC in the paint, and he was great on the offensive end as well, using his size and touch to score at an efficient clip at the bucket.

Second Team

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1587383' first='Jackson' last='Lieurance'] (Cascade)
Stats: 22.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 steals, 1.0 blocks, 54.5 FG%, 43.0 3P%, 76.6 FT%

The leading scorer in Cascade's program history, one with a lot of skilled players to come through, Lieurance is an elite shooter and remarkably efficient marksman who can fill it up in a hurry from anywhere on the floor. He really developed as a shot creator and playmaker over the last few years as well.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2413578' first='Dylan' last='Bosma'] (Unity Christian)
Stats: 16.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.3 steals, 49.5 FG%, 42.9 3P%, 73.9 FT%

The leader of a really good Unity Christian team, Bosma is an athletic guard who puts constant pressure on opposing teams on both ends of the floor with his toughness, quickness, and talent. He can score inside and out, create off the dribble, and he's a really good defender.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1484412' first='Karsten' last='Moret'] (Western Christian)
Stats: 14.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals, 54.6 FG%, 51.8 3P%, 76.9 FT%

Moret is one of the best shooters in the state, regardless of class. A confident shooter with a quick release, unlimited range, and the ability to shoot it off the dribble or the catch, he's also a talented defender with length and lateral quickness. He was the 1B to Van Regenmorter's 1A on the Wolfpack's back-to-back state title teams.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1978103' first='Alec' last='Lovely'] (Treynor)
Stats: 19.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.9 steals, 40.4 FG%, 78.0 FT%

A shifty lead guard who is among the best guards in the state at creating quality looks off the dribble, Lovely's ability to get to his spots is rivaled by few in the class. He's a dynamic scorer, playmaker, and defender who led the Cardinals to the state tournament for the second straight year.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1765513' first='Ryan' last='Clair'] (Kuemper Catholic)
Stats: 15.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.2 blocks, 66.3 FG%, 42.9 3P%, 78.8 FT%

Kuemper was upset in the substate final by Union, but Clair was fantastic all year for the Knights, using his size, athleticism, and footwork to dominate around the rim and control the painted area on both ends of the floor. He would've put up even bigger numbers if the Knights didn't have so many options, and if he had played more fourth quarter minutes.
