First up, we'll take a look at the Point Guards.

At the top of the rankings is [player_tooltip player_id='2563037' first='Darien' last='Moore'], who checks in at #8 overall. The Seton Hall commit just finished his first season in New England at Brewster Academy and impressed with his abilities as a scorer, facilitator, and defender. He's a high level playmaker off the bounce, can knock down shots with deep range from behind the arc, and is one of the better on-ball perimeter defenders in the region.

Below are ten more Point Guards of note from our latest rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='2465117' first='Ryan' last='Moesch'] #10

Another newcomer to the region this winter, Moesch had a terrific season manning the point for Cushing Academy. His stock improved as much as any prospect in the region as he proved to be a heady decision maker that could also knock down tough shots late in the clock. He plays with a great feel for the game and seemingly rises to the level of his competition when needed. He can score at all three levels, plays with good pace, never gets sped up, and is ultra competitive. What he proved above all else this winter is that he's a winner.

[player_tooltip player_id='2341301' first='Windston' last='Legentus'] #25

A standout this winter for Brimmer & May, Legentus proved to be one of the top two way guards in New England. He's a big time scorer that gets it done on or off the ball, making shots in the mid-range and from behind the arc. While he's capable of putting up big scoring numbers, he also showed that he knows how to operate in ball screens and can make good decisions as a passer when he gets into the paint. On the other end of the floor, there are few perimeter defenders who can match his level of intensity and effort, as he proved to be one of the best lockdown guards in the region.

[player_tooltip player_id='2341317' first='Jaylen' last='Hunter-Coleman'] #38

Hunter-Coleman took his game to another level in his first season in the prep ranks. The Northfield Mount Hermon guard impressed in a variety of ways, but stood out as one of the region's most athletic guards and as arguably the top sub-6' rebounding guard in New England. The lefty is great in transition where he can get out and be athletic and use his powerful frame to finish at the rim. He improved his consistency as a perimeter shooter and proved to be a tough shot maker in the mid-range. He plays with an incredibly high motor and was relentless on the defensive glass, putting up numerous games with 15+ rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1438849' first='Jah' last='Hatchett'] #41

A member of Putnam Science Academy's national championship squad, Hatchett is another elite perimeter defender that makes a two-way impact. He's a tough on-ball defender that can really sit in a stance and move his feet laterally, keeping opponents out of the paint and forcing plenty of turnovers. Offensively, he's a crafty finsher around the rim that has proven to be a capable ball-handler that knows how to create space with the bounce. He's really good in transition, knows how to turn the corner out of ball screens, and continues to improve as an outside shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2341427' first='Lateef' last='Afolabi'] #60

A bigger guard from Dexter Southfield, Afolabi had a strong junior season in which he proved to be one of the region's better athletes. He makes a serious two way impact, impressing with his ability to score at multiple levels and to guard multiple positions. Offensively, he uses his athleticism well when attacking the rim, getting to his spots off the bounce and finishing well at the basket. He scores in transition, where he can fly up and down the floor and finish plays above the rim. On the other end, he guards multiple positions and has proven to be disruptive with his combination of length, athleticism, and physicality.

[player_tooltip player_id='2467414' first='Patrick' last='Ricca'] #95

A high IQ lead guard from St. Paul's School, Ricca had a strong junior season, impressing as a playmaker, defender, and rebounder. He has a good feel for the game with the ball in his hands and does a great job of creating in transition, where he pushes the tempo and keeps his head up. He makes shots with touch over size in the paint and is a consistent shooter in catch and shoot situations. Defensively, he has a nose for loose balls and collects plenty of defensive rebounds in space. He moves his feet on the perimeter, has good instincts off the ball, and is always looking to fly the ball up the floor off rebounds and steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2465130' first='Jeremiah' last='Medor'] #119

The big, lefty guard out of Cheshire Academy has a good feel for the game as a scorer and decision maker, particularly when playing in ball screens. He understands how to play at different speeds, keeps his eyes up which allows him to find shooters on the perimeter, and doesn't get rattled when playing against pressure. He shows scoring instincts when he turns the corner and elevates nicely when he gets into his mid-range jumper. With his size, length, and strength, he's a versatile defender that can guard in space and also does a nice job of contibuting on the defensive glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2696654' first='Ben' last='Safran'] #140

An instinctive guard that makes plenty of plays defensively, Safran had a nice junior season at New Hampton. He is a good help defender that understands positioning and angles, which helps him to make plays in passing lanes. He does a good job of turning defense into offense, quickly pushing the ball up the floor in transition. He's a willing ball mover that doesn't over dribble and makes the smart play. He makes good reads out of ball screens and when he slides off the ball, does a good job in catch and shoot situations, showing the ability to consistently knock down shots from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='2569619' first='Larry' last='Lamar Jr']. #169

A dynamic guard that impressed with his ability to control a game offensively, Lamar Jr. was a standout this winter at Grafton. He's at his best when he can get downhill, both in transition and in the half-court, using his size and quick first step to attack the rim where he's a quality finisher. He has some wiggle off the bounce and the ability to create seperation, which allows him to see the floor and find cutters near the basket. He makes shots consistently from behind the arc and knows how to leverage his shooting to open driving lanes. He's a strong rebounder defensively that also has the ability to guard any spot on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2696690' first='Allen' last='Miranda'] #171

A long guard that impacts games with his activity level, Miranda was a key contributor this winter for Duggan Academy. He's a versatile scorer that can get baskets at multiple levels, but does a great job of breaking down a defense with the ball in his hands. He's shifty, quickly changes directions, and has the ability to keep defenders off balance with his creation off the bounce. He scores at the rim with his length and does a nice job of spraying it out to shooters when he gets a piece of the paint. Defensively, he's disruptive on the ball and in passing lanes and does a great job of turning defense into easy offense in transition.
