Expert Analysis
Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Legentus, a senior guard out of the Brimmer & May School in Massachusetts, is one of the top unsigned prospects out of New England in 2026. The 6’0″ guard is capable of going off for 30+ points on any given night and has already done so this winter against some impressive competition, including in games against Cheshire, Newman, and Lawrence. He’s a good athlete with impressive burst off the bounce, has the ability to play through contact as a driver, and finishes with a ton of creativity around the rim. He scores with touch over size in the paint and continues to evolve as a shooter in the mid-range and from behind the arc.

Legentus put on quite the show Sunday against CATS Academy on the way to Brimmer’s upset win. The 6-foot guard is one of the streakier players in the region and when he’s on, he’s on. And on Sunday, he was on. He’s an incredibly tough shot maker who can take and make shots from the mid range, the three point line, and well beyond the arc. He can also finish with contact and athleticism at the rim if you try to overplay his shot. Legentus had quite a legendary performance on Sunday and will look to leverage that performance into some more scholarship offers.

Legentus is one of the streakier players in the NEBL. When he isn’t hitting his shots and isn’t feeling comfortable with his handle, he can take some really questionable shots early in the clock. But when he’s on, he’s impossible to stop. He has never-ending confidence on the offensive end and can score from all three levels. His explosiveness, handle and touch allow him to blow by defenders and get a relatively decent shot virtually whenever he wants. Defensively, he can be a real pest when he locks in. I could imagine Legentus getting some D2 looks.

Legentus is a really talented athlete and scorer who can put the ball in the hoop from all three levels and get to the rim fairly consistently. The 6-foot guard has a good handle, a solid shot, and great explosiveness. If he can improve his facilitation and lean into being more unselfish, he can probably get some higher level scholarship looks than he’s currently getting. He’ll have a chance to do so as part of the starting backcourt for Brimmer this season. I would guess he’ll go somewhere D2 as things currently stand.

was putting the ball in the basket at will. He impressed by shooting off the dribble effectively, especially in the mid range area. His pretty stroke also helped him hit off the catch three pointers in rhythm.

Legentus is a pure point guard who has a knack for letting the game come to him. His athletic ability can be seen on the defensive end. Legentus does a good job facilitating and setting his teammates up for successful offensive chances. If Legentus has a head of steam look out he likes to barrel his way to the bucket. He spends a fair amount of time at the foul line.

This kid is tough and has a heart bigger than him. Let’s start with his offense, good shot making ability fadeaway, slide stepping defenders, quick release and can get the shots off with his quick release over different defenders. The offense moves efficiently when he got touches, he controls the offense with great pace and is very patient. His IQ consists of knowing how and when to utilize his energy and has great spatial awareness. The part of his game I find most amusing is how frustrated defenders get guarding him because of his play making ability forcing defenders to play tight defense and then he ends up drawing foul after foul.

Legentus didn’t play Sunday, but his ridiculous scoring outburst on Saturday warrants a write-up. He is a tough shot-maker with solid isolation skills and handle; against South Kent, he hit multiple deep step-back threes that he quite frankly shouldn’t have even been able to get off. The ball can stick to him at times, but he had the green light to take whatever shots he wanted on Saturday – most of what he threw up was going in. His height will limit his college recruitment at the scholarship level, but he can score it in bunches.

Legentus is a skilled ball handler and shooter with the ability and willingness to get his teammates involved. His offensive versatility allows him to play on and off-ball, and he’s an above the rim athlete even at his size. Defensively, Legentus has great help-side instincts and hands, which make him a solid team defender.

Legentus got hot from beyond the arc, knocking down four en route to 15 points. He’s more than just a shooter though, as he looked more than confident running a Brimmer offense that boasts the likes of
