The 2024-25 SCHSL State Championships began on February 27th and continued through March 8th at the Florence Center in Florence, South Carolina. This was a great opportunity to have some of the best the state has to offer under the same roof. The fifth State Champion crowned was Atlantic Collegiate Academy in Class 2A. Check out my Class 2A All State Championships Team, featuring two players from the State Champion, one from the runner-up, and one from each of the Upper State and Lower State runners-up:

[player_tooltip player_id='1158878' first='Jamie' last='Brooks'] (Atlantic Collegiate) - The Atlantic Collegiate Armada won the Class 2A State Championship in their first year eligible and a big reason why was [player_tooltip player_id='1158878' first='Jamie' last='Brooks']. Brooks used his size to impact the game on both ends of the floor in the State Championship Game, racking up 3 steals and 3 blocks to go with 14 points. Jamie has improved his handle and ability to create off the dribble since I last saw him, meaning he should be a late target for College Coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172891' first='Jaylen' last='Bellamy'] (Atlantic Collegiate) - Jaylen led the Armada in scoring in both the Lower State and State Championship Games, putting up 37 total points. Bellamy is a lefty with a nice stroke from the outside and athleticism to attack the paint confidently. He is also a two-way difference maker, capable of picking up the other team's top assignment when called on. Bellamy recieved offers from Patrick & Henry CC and Denmark Tech after his stand-out performances at the State Championships

Trapp Morman (High Point) - Trapp is a Senior who put up two strong performances in his final outings as a High Point Grizzly. Morman is very much a high-risk, high-reward basketball player. He can put up points in a hurry, particularly from long range, but can also struggle to take care of the ball at times. Trapp averaged 14 PPG across two games in Florence last week including a 4-8 mark from three in the final. Morman will knock down shots from all over the perimeter and can do so off the dribble or spotting up.

Zach Wellborn (Liberty) - Wellborn is the lone interior presence on this Liberty squad and that was an advantage for them offensively in the Upper State Championship. Zach had a team-high 13 points mixing in post-scoring with trips to the free-throw line. Although he did have a strength advantage on his matchup, he did have to battle against length and earn almost all of his points. Wellborn was also a presence on the glass on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1487224' first='Zeke' last='Clyburn'] (Andrew Jackson) - Like Wellborn, Zeke was a positive paint option for his team despite the semifinal loss. Clyburn averaged a double-double per game coming into the Lower State Championship Game and has a nice combination of length and mobility. He likes to finish with his left hand around the basket and stepped up with several key scoring moments throughout the season. Zeke put up 14 points in the loss to Atlantic Collegiate.
