Expert Analysis

Speaking of near state-leading numbers, that’s exactly what Clyburn did on the glass this season. He put up a dominant 15.3 rebounds per game in his senior year, dominating the boards on both ends of the floor each and every time he took to the floor. Although he has solid size, there are plenty of bigger and more athletic players than Zeke in the state, so it was quite impressive to see the numbers he put up on a nightly basis.

Zeke was the highest-ranked prospect on the court yesterday, and he backed it up with a dominant 10-point, 9-rebound performance in a 16-minute game. Clyburn was all over the offensive glass, saving possession after possession for the Volunteers thanks to his instincts, positioning, and length. Most of Zeke’s scoring came from the free throw line (6-9), but he did show off his ability to finish in the paint through contact on his two made field goals. The key to Clyburn’s college potential will be how well he can develop an outside shot or the ability to create for himself off the dribble, because he has the physical tools to be a good player.

. Zeke had a big Sophomore Season where he put up 13.8 Points Per Game and 9.3 Rebounds Per Game helping lead the Volunteers to a 20-win season and Round 3 of the Playoffs. This year, they are in 2A Region 4 and he will be a contender for All-State and Region Player of the Year. Clyburn works well in the paint and is strong through contact. He can set up shop on the wings and work off the drive or work with his back to the basket. Zeke crashes the glass hard on both ends of the floor and is a versatile defender.

Zeke plays his best basketball around the paint area and stalking the baseline from time to time. He can deliver punches scoring the rock through contact when needed for the Volunteers. He surely won’t back away from a challenge or ever play timid while on the floor.
Clyburn and the Volunteers will be right there in the end like every other year under Head Coach Danny Wright.
